My friend Beth called last night, and I always look forward to her calls, yet, I hadn't picked up the phone to call her in weeks. Weeks! Life has been preoccupying me, or the truth is that I allowed it to swallow me whole. There is no need, I can delegate some of what I have, but, decided to see it through, I can do both. I need a little bit of free time, for me and for those I love. I'll bet more than half of you reading this need a little bit of personal time. I realized, all over again that I am not being fair to myself or those I love. I need to slow down and take the time to have those meaningful, full-of-life conversations that make me feel good all over. We get so busy in our lives and sometimes lose touch with those we shared a moment with. Even those in the peripheral of my social circle play an important part, linking my broader social life to my more personal. Everybody needs those consequential relationships that link us to one another. Sometimes, I forget how to take care of my own little garden.
You know, sometimes it is the small things in life, yes? Not every person you meet has to be a close friend, your confidante, your bestie... but in this fast-paced, no time for anything world, it is nice to remind each other once in a while – through thoughts and deeds, however small - that we care. I have to say that even here on Hive, I have been truly touched and ofter surprised at the level of care. It has been nice to see and honestly when I see or experience it, I can feel the love. It makes you want to pay it forward because, honestly, does anyone ever get tired of that feeling?
Hands down, my favorite tree, it falls into my path coming and going from my house. Every year, it looks just a tad greener to me. I asked the all-knowing Alexa and she told me she wasn't sure. Won't she be surprised to see Siri tomorro> Sometimes, she is just a know-it-all, and other times, she is a know-nothing. Some days I feel like someone is living in there, playing with my head.
A little touch of spring for you, they are just pushing forth on such a glorious day. When I moved to Virginia, I thought these were evergreens and they are not. It really surprised me. It is actually a blad cypress, I believe. Correct me if I am wrong. They get new little greens in the spring. They have begun their journey! Watch out world, here they come!
The clouds make the best backdrop to my day, dotting the sky, or waving the trees in the breeze, saying goodnight. How can we dispute our love for the tree, for they will generally grow where it's planted.
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

Beautiful shots! I only have a small circle of friends, but it is often very long between times that we talk. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that we know everyone has their own daily lives going on with their families and stuff and we don't want to disrupt that. When we do talk it is like we never were apart.
I agree with you there. I have people that I don't talk to on a regular basis because of the busy lives that we all have. But, the minute I am talking to them, it is exactly that. Just like never being apart.
