My name is Tuah Acheampong. A 5th year student at the University for Development Studies studying Medical Laboratory Science. Im also a part time photographer and a blogger who is very much enthusiastic about blockchains. I fell in love with crypto currency and starting blogging on steem some years ago and now on hive. I share on christianity, current happenings, science, analysis and photography most of the time. The mandate of every Christian is to spread the word of God to all nation.

To put a face to the name:

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

As such, every Christian is to go to all nations and proclaim the good news. To tell the world about the risen Christ. Bearing testimony to His righteousness and the salvation which comes to all that believe in him.

Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

It is for this reason that i wish to join Heartchurch community which has these ideals imbibed in them. There is a lot to learn about Christianity and i will love to use this space to explain some basic concepts to my readers.

You might have heard about ATONEMENT, REMISSION AND FORGIVENESS. This is the basics of our faith and it needs to be demystify so that every new convert or believer will understand why each of these gifts from God are necessary. Some people use them interchangeably which has contributed to the lack of understanding of these terms.

NB: Understanding is linked to riches.

ATONEMENT, REMISSION AND FORGIVENESS

These three words are at times used interchangeably but nevertheless; they are not the same.
To atone is to make amends for, to cover, make up for, to pay the penalty for a crime or a sin or demeanor you have done.

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

This is sometimes the reason why people don’t eat blood. Life is in the blood. The term atonement was mainly used in the old testament when the priest use the blood of sheep to make up for the sins of the people. The animal’s blood is used as a substitute for the human sins. The book of Leviticus is made up of different kinds of offerings. When your sins are atoned for, it means it is covered. Atonement doesn’t mean it wasn’t there, it simply means it is obscured from site.

Remission is the complete wiping off of sin as though there has never been. Before Christ, there was no remission, only atonement was there. As such Atonement was done annually.
It is used in connection with the new birth.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The sins are no longer covered but wiped out completely.

2 Corinthian 5: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new

Acts 2:38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Remission in its case is a lifetime purge. Once you obtain remission you are not accountable to your past sins.

I believe the exegesis of these concepts from the bible has been made to come alive for you. I pray that this teaching blesses your life and make you become fruitful in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Catch me up on my next blog to talk about Forgiveness. You might be wondering whether God forgives you for your repetitive sins. The sin of the lust of the flesh. Tune in to know more. God bless you

Nb: All references are from the King James Version of the Bible.
