Buen día y muy feliz domingo preciada audiencia.😄 Él día de hoy quiero compartirles una ráfaga de fotos que tomé de un par de aves que vi peleándose y posteriormente alzando el vuelo por caminos separados, sin embargo, al revisar las fotografías en la computadora, me di cuenta que había algo más en la escena y resulta que una de estas golondrinas pechigrís atrapó una libélula en pleno vuelo.
Good day and a very happy Sunday dear audience.😄 Today I would like to share with you a series of photos in burst-mode I took of a couple of birds that I saw fighting and later flying on separate paths. However, when I was reviewing the photos on the computer, I realized that there was something else in the scene and it turns out that one of these swallows caught a dragonfly in mid-flight.
La golondrina pechigrís, también conocida como golondrina doméstica, es una de las cinco aves más comunes de la zona donde vivo y su área distribución total se extiende desde Estados Unidos hasta Argentina.
Su dieta consiste en cazar insectos en pleno vuelo, como es el caso de las fotos que comparto a continuación: 😉
The grey-breasted martin is one of the five most common birds in the area where I live and its total range extends from the United States to Argentina.

Al principio vi una batalla entre dos aves, por ello encendí mi cámara, coloqué el modo ráfaga y procedí a tomar las fotos. / At first I saw a battle between two birds, so I turned on my camera, set the burst mode and proceeded to take the pictures.
Con todo lo que tardé en realizar lo que dije anteriormente, ambas golondrinas terminaron de pelear y se separaron. / With all the time it took me to do what I said before, both swallows finished fighting and separated.
Inmediatamente, una de las golondrinas pechigrís divisó una libélula que se dirigía hacia ella y extendió su lengua para capturarla. (En la foto se ve la libélula como una mancha en donde se notan sutilmente sus dos pares de alas). / Immediately, one of the grey-breasted martin saw a dragonfly heading towards him and extended its tongue to capture the insect in flight. (In the photo you can see the dragonfly as a spot where you can subtly see its two pairs of wings).
Esta es la foto inmediatamente después de la captura. (El momento exacto en que la atrapó no la capturó la cámara por lo rápido de la escena). / This is the photo immediately after the capture. (The exact moment when he caught it was not captured by the camera because of the speed of the scene).
Sin embargo en esta foto, con el cielo despejado de fondo, es que se puede apreciar en su pico las alas de la libélula ya capturada. / However, in this photo, with a clear sky in the background, the wings of the captured dragonfly can be seen in its beak.
La golondrina pechigrís prosiguió con su vuelo. / The grey-breasted martin continued its flight.
Hasta quedar fuera del campo de visión que estaba fotografiando. / Until he was out of the vision field I was photographing.
En el modo ráfaga que utilicé (uno de los tres que tiene mi cámara y el segundo más veloz que esta posee), reduce la resolución de las fotos de 14 MP (4288 x 3216 píxeles) a 5 MP (2560 x 1920 píxeles), por tal motivo se hace notoria una pérdida de calidad al realizar un recorte a las fotografías, cosa que no ocurre cuando esto lo realizo con una fotografía que tomo con ella a 14 MP.
Dejando esto de lado, este modo realiza automáticamente los ajustes necesarios para reducir enormemente el tiempo de exposición de las fotos, incrementando la sensibilidad del sensor y la apertura de diafragma, logrando de esta manera "congelar el tiempo" en ellas.
In the burst mode that I used (one of the three that my camera has and the second fastest that it has), it reduces the resolution of the photos from 14 MP (4288 x 3216 pixels) to 5 MP (2560 x 1920 pixels), for such reason it becomes noticeable a loss of quality when making a cut to the photos, which does not happen when this is done with a picture that I take with it at 14 MP.
Leaving this aside, this mode automatically makes the necessary adjustments to greatly reduce the exposure time of the photos, increasing the sensitivity of the sensor and the diaphragm aperture, thus achieving "freezing time" in them.
