In the Middle Ages, between an expedition and a battle, the princes and their courtiers delighted in hunting using all kinds of weapons, bows, crossbows and even trained falcons to bring the captured wild hares back to their master. Falcon hunting was even practiced by Emperor Frederick II, and various legends and numerous tales related to magic and mystery flourished around "Falconry".

Nel Medioevo, tra una spedizione ed una battaglia, i principi e i loro cortigiani, si dilettavano nella caccia utilizzando ogni genere di arma, archi, balestre ed anche falconi addestrati per riportare al padrone le lepri selvatiche catturate. La caccia col falcone venne praticata perfino dall'Imperatore Federico II, ed intorno alla “Falconeria” fiorirono varie leggende e numerosi racconti legati alla magia ed al mistero.
