I sat down tonight and wanted to write about some of the people I know who are in Ukraine, how I am so honored to know people such as them. There is nothing I can write. Unless you are experiencing it as they are, there is nothing you can say. I look on, horrified that I am at a loss... Like a mother protecting her child, they are standing up to keep their country safe. I am sad that it has to come to this, I don't know anyone who wakes up and says, I hope we have a war today, maybe some of our neighbors will bring their armored vehicles over to play. This sounds as ridiculous as the situation. I pray for your safety, all of you, those that I know and those I don't. Be strong. Because I want to do something nice, I send you a little beauty, The renewal of spring, coming your way.
Oh, there is a necessity in writing, penning my thoughts, journaling, or whatnot – for how else will I capture the moment as it passes; what happens if I should forget those minute details, or worse, what if I forget that moment – to be gone like an exhale on a cold morning?

I understand about not knowing what to say. Words are just totally inadequate regarding the horrors that Ukraine is experiencing. I know, not in my wildest, most terrible imagination can I begin to fathom what they are going through.

On 24 February, Putin announced a "special military operation" in eastern Ukraine; minutes later, missiles began to hit locations across Ukraine, including the capital, Kyiv.

I am not sure there is much we can do for the people of Ukraine and Russia too but pray for peace. I have seen a few videos in Russia where its populace has come out en masse to demand peace. Perhaps they are the best hope for it.

Being aligned most of my adult life with the military, I agree. I don't get into a mixing of the words unless I am there because it looks so different from the inside out.

Oh, what a contrast! The seen beauty of these flowers heralding spring, heralding a victory, the victory of spring over winter and the unseen but everywhere felt ugliness of war, death, and destruction.
Surely there will be a "spring" in Ukraine too, we just don't know when and how much more suffering they will endure.
