Hive Open Mic #130 - Big Black Horse and A Cherry Tree (KT Tunstall)
My entry for this week is a song by KT Tunstall, a firm favourite of mine.
I do think KT writes excellent songs, the powerful and the softer ones; I love them all!
On this one she uses a loop pedal and I can't help but think, that she wrote the song around it. I've always wondered, what it is actually about, it never fully made sense to me, but it would appear that it does have some sort of story behind it. The bottom line is, that it's a clever and catchy song, that everybody knows and oooohs along to, whenever played live.
My version doesn't involve the loop pedal, although I have started using it, having been given instructions by a very dear friend of mine. I hope, to post something some time.

I may have seen KT for the first time on Later when she did this song solo with the looper. A few of our friends have covered it, but I have not attempted it yet. I like your version. As with many songs I have no idea what it's about, but it doesn't really matter.

I guess it doesn't matter, no, not with this tune anyway, but sometimes it helps to be in the song if you can relate to the lyrics easily.
