I like debt clocks, history trackers & the like.
I used to like in the older versions of games, like Civilisation, that would map out the histroy of the countries.

Listening to the White House's coverage regarding the virus, visiting the CDC's website, Coronavirus.gov

They say, "If you want to go on a Cruise ship, go on a Cruise ship" unless you are in one of the risk categories

I'm not out there in public much at the moment, but, I guess there is always a risk of exposure.

Catching up with former work colleagues on Saturday, who had been exposed to colleagues from Singapore, provides layers of possible cross contamination, as the people from Singapore were not given any quarantine restrictions.

The virus has impacted the Global economy, allegedly. I say, "allegedly", as I've had my eye the state of the Global economy for a number of years, as have many people on here, that the lessons, not learned, from the, GFC, has resulted in rampant QE, ridiculously low interest rates, decreasing consumption, unsettled middle classes, austerity measures, creeping cost of living, and so forth, the Coronavirus just may be the trigger to topple over the house of cards.

Oil prices crashing, cheaper petrol for me.
Trade crippled, cheaper food for me.

I'm mainly wanting to share the interactive map.
The side dialogue are just some current thoughts regarding the situation.

Keep well & wash your hands.

probs if you're in Italy, france, korea, japan or a cruise ship - there's a red bubble for the cruise ship just beside Japan.

although, it seems a little suspect, that the countries with the high death levels, would appear to be the more "transparent" reporting countries.

Hey @royliusteem. Put "Coronavirus" on my shopping list and remind me to use it on the malicious hackers that illegaly froze my legally purchased stake that I paid with my own hard earned money.

I agree, the corona virus is only the last bump that knocks everything over. The situation was scetchy already before the virus. Now, all the QE in the world will not save the markets. Everything is heading towards zero now, to regain fair value again.
But it will be a rough time for all of us. Something like the early 1930s may be, who knows. Soup kitchens, Hoovervilles, crime, and so on. I don't think the cheap fuel will make up for that...

Apart from toilet paper violence, i heard a banging outside, I thought it was just someone doing some home handywork - actually, it was a car window being smashed by someone wanting to rummage through an abandoned car.
I thought that it wasn't abandoned, just belonging to a young guy across the road, the car had a "canary" on it - you know, those unroadworthy big yellow stickers that some gov'ment person wacks on the windscreen.

Strange days.

If we get widespread unemployment, homelessness and such things, there is much more like that to come.
Like I said: look at the 1930s and the Great Depression. Even the rise of Hitler in Germany and the resulting WW2 was indirectly caused by this.

Hi @jagged

Have you or your work being affected already by coronavirus? Just curious.

Cheers, Piotr

I work for myself & also in collaboration with a small enterprise - nobody is affected at this stage that I know.

My previous workplace is business as usual with all staff travelling as per normal.

One friend returned from holiday from Vietnam and was told not to return to work for 2 weeks, however, due to lack of staff they were asked to return after 1 week.

Nobody seems concerned at this moment.

My mother suffers from respiratory illness (emphasema) and would most likely not survive if she contracted any serious illness.
She clearly is in a high risk category.

How about in Poland?

I see that Italy has quarantined & France is banning public gatherings (yellow vests kept to a simmer).

Hope your mother will stay safe @jagged

How about in Poland?

It's all just starting now here. Finally virus also reached our country. Time will tell how bad will it be. Thanks for asking.

Yours
Piotr
