Time to Take a Day...

avatar

It’s been a long couple weeks. With one crew out of town then my crew heading out of town... 17 hour days catch up to you quick. Especially when you rarely ever work those kind of hours. In the past it was no big deal to work a week of 16 hour days... I guess now I am getting soft. Lol. Here is a photo I took of some of the burnt poles we had to replace. It was a mess and we were the second string team to come and help.

So I finally decided to take a day and do... nothing. Well a couple cold ones and catching up on season 7 of Blacklist isn’t necessarily nothing. Lol. Not to mention a little chill time with Sadie.

This doesn’t happen often but a day of not doing a damn thing is just what I needed

The poles are burned out from the recent fires?

Ya it was a mess!! In one county they lost 1,100 poles. Where I worked they lost around 800 and I know of another utility that lost around 1,000.

That's a lot of work.

The same happens here although our poles tend to be concrete and steel mostly.

I love those “do nothing” days.

I actually don’t mind to sit there and do literally nothing.

It’s hard for me to do but it is necessary. I always feel like I should be doing something productive and I am wasting the day away. Lol.
