'A' Comes from the Apis Bull Symbol of Ancient Egypt
(Edited)
A few years ago I was researching Egyptian symbolism, and stumbled on the relation to the present alphabet. The first letter is A, and it can be traced back in it's evolution through time and space (geographical cultures).
The bull was a revered animal for the horns that symbolized power, and higher consciousness as it pointed to the sky, towards the sun, which is also present in much bull/horn sun symbolism.
The apis symbol can be seen as an upside down A, which through cultures and time, morphed sideways and eventually become the upright A, where the horns are pointed downward instead. The whole Latin alphabet can be traced to ancient Egypt, whether they were the originators of the symbols they used or not.

This kind of stuff is very interesting. So much history out there.

It is indeed. Egypt has a lot of originating paths for what we have now.
Wow, mind exploded there

It goes deeper too, the alpha and omega, was alef and tauv, and T and X are related in symbolic origins as well.

Very interesting. Nice presentation too. Thank you.
You're welcome ;)
Hi @krnel
What a coincidence my eldest daughter is seeing drawing classes and one of the first things they teach her are the lines and types of lines, and the first thing they do is reference to ancient Egypt how they represented everything based on the lines.
Of course they also refer to the first men.
Greetings friend.
Good stuff! I knew some of this already but some of it was new to me as well, and I Just happen to be working on something myself about the deeper meaning of the letter A, so, this was perfect timing. Thanks for sharing the info krnel!
Welcome :)
