Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!

However, on the 26th one, I have decided that it is big enough to call it a Library!

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!

In this series, I will review one unit at a time, picking them randomly.

So let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:

Leagues - Brôkhyr Iron-master

Aha! I drew a proper Stunty! The Votann are Space Dwarfs or Squats. They are awesome and I love dwarves and now there are dwarves in 40k AND they are technically HUMAN cloners who modified their genes to allow them to mine in the Galactic core and I have the Pre-Order box in the garage... unassembled and ready to be painted... one day...

Now, the Brôkhyr Iron-master is one of their Character choices. Basically the Brôkhyr are Guild caste within the Votann society and it means that he is an Engineer, a Mechanic and a curator of good technology!

For 65pts, let's see what he does!

Statline

First of all, as in the picture above, when you buy the Brôkhyr Iron-master for 65pts, he is not alone!

You get the Brôkhyr Iron-master, 1x Ironkin Assistant, and 3x E-COG Assistants.

The squad moves 5" and is Toughness 5. The Brôkhyr has 4 Wounds, the Ironkin has 2 Wounds and the E-COGs have 1 Wound each. So that means that for 65pts you are buying 9 wounds of T5 and Save 4+.

And while I say "Squad" he and his buddies can still join another unit!

Weapons

Let's do a weapons Breakdown:

Brôkhyr Iron-master - Graviton Rifle, Graviton Hammer
Ironkin Assistant - Las-Beam cutter, Close Combat Weapon
E-COG - Autoch-pattern bolt pistol
E-COG - plasma torch
E-COG - manipulator arms

So again, these guys look like they are mean to be helping him fix cars and hangar doors.

What do these weapons do?

Ranged:
Graviton Rifle - 18" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S5, AP-1, Damage 3 with Anti-Vehicle , which means any vehicle hit by this gun will suffer a Critical Wound on a 6+!
Las-beam cutter - 6" Range, 1 Shot, Hits on 4+, S6, AP-3 and 1 Damage
Autoch-pattern bolt pistol - 12" range, 1 shot S4, AP0, and 1 Damage (this guy can be first to die).

Melee:
Graviton Hammer: 3 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S9, AP-1 and 3 Damage each! Again, with Anti-Vehicle 2+!!!
The other close combat weapons are almost not worth mentioning. There is a Plasma Torch which is 1x S6, Ap-3 attack that hits on 4+ and only does 1 Wound. The other two together have 4x S3 AP0 D1 Attack.

Abilities

• Multispectral Visor: While leading a unit, ranged weapons get a +1 to Hit.

This is sooooo simple but sooooo effective! This in itself makes this model well worth it!

• Brôkhyr’s Guild: At the end of your movement phase, when this unit is within 3" of a friendly Vehicle or Exo-Suit the Iron-master can heal it up to D3 wounds. If the Ironkin is still alive then it is straight 3 wounds, no need to roll.

You can only heal a unit once per turn but this would be great to keep some units alive for longer and he is great anti-tank!
