Ventimiglia - a town between the mountains and the sea. Вентимилья – городок между горами и морем

If you travel by train or bus to the west of the Italian Bordighera, you can get to a cozy place called Ventimiglia. While you are traveling, you will not even immediately feel that you have left one locality and reached another – the cities on the coast are so compactly located.

Если проехать на поезде или автобусе на запад от итальянской Бордигеры, можно добраться до уютного местечка с названием Вентимилья. Пока вы будете путешествовать, вы даже не сразу почувствуете, что выехали за пределы одного населённого пункта и добрались до другого – так компактно расположены города на побережье.

But Ventimiglia has its own attractions. For example, there is an ancient Amphitheater, buildings come across higher, and the embankment of the city is almost close to the sea, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants.

Но у Вентимильи есть свои достопримечательности. Например, тут есть древний Амфитеатр, здания попадаются выше, а набережная города стоит почти вплотную к морю, и здесь полно магазинчиков и ресторанов.

We were also surprised by the hilly peninsula on which the houses of the rich are located. From afar, this place resembles an impregnable citadel, as if it came to us from the time of ancient castles. But in fact, there is just a complex of large houses standing next to each other. Hence the feeling that this is some kind of fairy-tale country on a hill.

Ещё нас удивил холмистый полуостров, на котором расположились дома богачей. Издалека это место напоминает неприступную цитадель, будто пришедшую к нам со времён старинных замков. Но на самом деле там просто комплекс из больших домов, стоящих рядом друг с другом. Отсюда и создаётся ощущение, будто это какая-то сказочная страна на холме.
