Other people post something: Often a $20 (or even more) payout.
I post anything: cents, cents, cents and cents.
Today I transferred $0.935 HBD to savings.
How could I hope to earn around $1900 USD before the next winter (in the next eight or nine months)?
Even if I post three or four times per day, I will still not reach that amount with these cents.
And meaningfully commenting under other people's posts does not help either (nowadays I am in the top 10-20 of the engagement league).
And some people take it as an offense when I start a power down out of desperation.
What else should I do?

It seems like you feel entitled to more money. You don't. None of us do.
If you are just going to bitch once a month or something, maybe its better to power down and leave like you are doing :)

Hive is my only hope. I live alone with multiple disabilities under the local minimum wage. I receive a pension-like income, and nowadays I work in a four hours per day packaging part time job, but my total income is still under the local minimum wage.
Maybe. I cannot afford my rent in the winter, and I do not have money to buy an RV. Maybe not even an SUV. If I have to buy and live in a car from the next winter, then I will leave the whole internet to save money (approximately the $15 USD per month price of the mobile internet subscription), because I will live on my approximately $250 USD per month pension-like income.
But yes. I am willing to live in a car with my Harris's hawk, if I willl not get enough support to buy an RV or an SUV.

Come here (to Hungary), and tell them. They intentionally keep most of us under the local minimum wage. Many people leave the country.
Because of the heating. I do not have to heat the house in the other three seasons, just/only in the winter.
Btw. If you buy Ecency points and boost every one of your post you will make a profit.

Nowadays I rarely boost my posts. I rather promote them (also with Ecency points) for visibility. In the hope that my posts will reach more people, and I receive help/support from them. Rarely it works, mostly not. So boosting is maybe indeed a better choice.
There's a reason why this doesn't work. @dswigle has hit upon it in her commenting in this post.
Also...the rewards you have gained on this post, a post complaining about not getting enough reward, is too high in my opinion. It's a rubbish post and the sort of thing that is often downvoted so the rewards go back to the reward pool.

According to your view/opinion. Fortunately/luckily other people have other views/opinions. I think that this is a honest post. I wrote the truth in it. And I also value and appreciate the honesty of other people. I know. Some people does not like to hear, read and see the truth. Especially if it is "negative".
Everyone can have their own opinion, because there is the freedom of speach on this platform, but the honesty and the truth are very far from "rubbish". These are respectable values. And most people agree with this. Only those disagree with this, who support censorship and bad acts.

This does not mean anything. First, honesty in the real world is also often not appreciated. In the real world, nowadays many people value lies and fake/false positivity rather than the truth. They take it as an offense, when you say the truth. It hurts them. They will not like you, if you will say the truth instead of what they want to hear. Second, the real human comments are rare on this platform in general. Many people say this, and this is visible. I rarely see real human comments. Sometimes I see posts from various authors with hundreds of upvotes, but 0 comments. If you take a look around, you will also see the lack of engagement on this platform in general. Many people do not (or rarely) get comments.

Clearly you never get sick of saying the same thing.
Look around, and see what is really broken. Just check the comment section of most of the users on this platform. You will have the answer very quickly.

Most people will not upvote a post with complaining all the time. I understand you and your reason, but, I also know that most people do not and believe you are just complaining.
Most posts are way down. Many people on the blockchain are supporting Ukraine, so right at the moment is a bad time to look for support. People will come back around to it, but, right now? The war is so very important.
This (the war in Ukraine) is a valid point. More than 200 000 refugees came to my country (to Hungary), so I see the part of its consequences with my own eyes. It is indeed very serious. But those who know me, know that I am actively and consistently being active on every side of the platform (posting, commenting, curating).
Maybe not so much as in the previous weeks (this week I am near the top 20 of the engagement league, instead of the top 10), but I am still consistent and very active. So I obviously do much more than complaining. But I understand that some people may still see me as a "complainer". They probably do not know (or simply do not care) what is struggle, poverty and desperation.

I didn't call you a complainer per se but I also don't want you to be seen as one. I understand that you are getting a huge amount of the refugees. Even for myself oh, I have given most of my extra money towards them and have done little the platform. At least less than I usually do. I understand what you're going through and just because of the war it won't change for you oh, the only thing I am saying is to be patient and have some compassion because right now it is time to take care of them, but I have a feeling that your turn will be coming. You should take some advice from @dswigle and cease your incessant negativity; all you serve to do with it is push people away and put a roadblock between you and the support you keep talking about. Meanwhile, that support is going to others who simply get on with things.
I remember saying this to you a long time ago, having a lengthy comment exchange with you on one of the several occasions you've threatened to quit Hive. It was back in mid 2020. I have also periodically come to look at your posts...Same thing, different day.
There are many here on Hive who get less than cents, but keep grinding away at it, getting involved as best they can. Some of those people are in a similar position to you, or worse*. Some struggle with mental health issues and every day is a battle within themselves to prevent self-harm or worse. Some struggle to put food on the table, some simply cannot, not without a lot of effort and even then it's meagre fare, barely enough. I know of two who were brutally raped and abused, another who was beaten from a very young age and made to feel unworthy of life...There are many stories like this on Hive, many. You're not the only one who has had it rough.
Their struggles don't negate your own, however I will say that your negativity will not attract the kind of support you are hoping for, and you'll not win votes (upvotes) by persisting.
Do yourself a favour and turn it around. No one owes you a thing, no one. I don't just mean here on Hive, I mean in life in general. Post positively. Stop talking about your pension and what you have to live on each month as we've heard it many times in your comments and posts. Stop talking about support and upvotes, it sounds entitled.
Find something positive to write about and do so with a lot of effort and consistency, I believe you can turn this around, gain better support and results from an enjoyment perspective. It's up to you.
Or...Take your power down and continue as is. Status quo.

Technically this is not possible with posting/commenting, because the payout threshold is $0.02. Only curation rewards can be less than that.
I was in this shoe. Once I was diagnozed with dysthymia (PDD), which is a chronic form of depression, but you probably already know it. Nowadays I do not have this, but I still have autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
I also often go through this. And I was homeless multiple times in the past. Even as a child.
I was beaten and abused too, including getting hit by my father or by my stepfather (I do not even know who is my real father), and being bullied physically in the elementary school and in the middle school, but fortunately/luckily not raped.
There are. Even in my local area. I personally know drug addicts, but I have not touched that, and I will not touch that. My country (Hungary) is a leader in the number of suicides, but I am not even thinking about it.

Technically it is possible. The last time I looked 0.00 is less than 0.02.
Keep focussing on presenting yourself positively and I believe you'll find that positive things occur.
Of course, if their posts/comments are not reach the payout threshold. But that does not mean "earning less than cents". That means literally nothing.
I really try to find and grab the positive side/aspect of things. Thank you for the motivation.

Look I'm going to go out on a limb here and risk being targetted over what I say here, but I think it's valid.
My account is not very old, I'm essentially a nobody with a very small stake in Hive. I only actively started posting on Hive 12 months ago and only two of those months I've been really focused on being consistent. I have seen the positive effect of consistancy and putting out what I think is decent quality content regularly. Stuff that people can relate to, but that has (mostly) positive under and over tones.
I know all too well that life can be shit, trust me and I have some relatively good reasons to be a rather pessimistic person, but do you see me posting only about that on my account? No. I'm not saying that it's all sunshine and roses either and occassionally I will have something that really gets my goat and I will put it out there, but it's never about upvotes on Hive - why? Because I am grateful for any and every vote and even more grateful when people actually read my content and like it and leave a comment - that means more to me than a vote to be honest.
It is not impossible for you to turn your situation around either. If you divide the amount you need by the months you have, I am sure that it is achievable or close to achievable - If you are consistant and perhaps try to post about things that you see/do/experience that were meaningful/expressive/immersive. If you have a hobby, post about that. I read that you have a Harris Hawk.
I have had a look and there isn't a Falconry community on Hive - Why don't you start one? You posted about your Harris Hawk recently but again, the post turned negative with you not knowing how you will afford housing. You didn't do too badly on that post, but I'm willing to bet that if you had focused on your Hawk and talking about her, then that post would have done much better. She's beautiful by the way.
I might get shit for writing this to you, but I do feel that you have an opportunity to turn it around, but it's up to you. If you carry on with your current trajectory, you are going to get the same results.
He's walking the same path for five years and expecting a different result! Maybe in another five years he will understand that no one can save him from himself.

Maybe I am indeed worrying too much. My brother is the opposite in this aspect. He have a debt of approximately $3000 USD, and he is not worried about anything. He simply live his life happily. I try to improve. I try to be positive.
