Weekend Portraits from Bangkok (14 Images)

When someone who loves taking images (like me) meets someone who loves being photographed (like Wanut in images below), good things happen. Even such a routine as buying shoes becomes a trip to photography.

The formal reason for the mission was that my only sneakers in Bangkok look shabby. I bought them in Decathlon for only 14$ five years ago. Since then, I have worn them at a temperature from -10C to +30C, only changing the amount of socks on me - the colder, the more socks I used to put on. 😀 Today, they are still fine for rambling around a swamp or in mountains but look too battered for going out.

Our shopping destination was an outlet village called Central Village (on google.maps), not far from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

It wasn't the first time for Wanut in Central Village so he knew that there were two bathrooms of amazing interior design, and this was where we headed first. 😀

That's how Central Village look: a shopping mall but there is no vault above the shops:

So, you walk outdoors and shop in stores with AC while regular shopping malls in Bangkok mean non-stop AC experience. Both ways are actually nice, I like getting some sun and heat between cooling in stores.

Another item I couldn't pass by without taking a photo:

Alas, on that day, it looks like we weren't destined to buy shoes. 😞

I tried on several shoes in a Skechers store. The prices were between 1500-2000 baht ($50-60) i.e. twice cheaper than Skechers shoes usually cost... but I didn't find the dream sneakers for myself. 😞

I tried on other brands but... nothing.

A pair of gumshoes is a nice object for photography but wearing this isn't what my feet dream about...

Nothing was bought but the walk was fun! Nice images were taken, I believe.

As a bonus, Thai food in a food court (in another shopping place called Megabangna).

65 baht (2 US dollars only!) for this: green curry (egg-plants, green beans, chicken, everything is super spicy, love it!), an omlette on plain rice, and chili chunks in fish sauce. Amazing!
