Is Karma real?

  • When I was younger I derive so much pleasure in sleeping with married women. I have caused a lot of damages in people's homes and marriages. I do these things without any sense of remorse because it has become a part of my life. Years later, I got married to my beautiful wife and I discovered that she is also having affairs with younger men. I tried all my best possible to caution and rebuke her but it was all to no avail. Then it dawned on me that I may be reaping what I sowed"

  • My husband was a Medical doctor before he died after a brief illness. Meanwhile, he had some equipments that he uses for his personal health services that he just bought newly before his demise. After his death one of his siblings came to the house to pack everything but I didn't even have a problem with it at that time. It was when I went to his place of work to apply for his entitlements that they said he is not qualified for any entitlements because he haven't worked for the minimum number of years expected but I should bring the equipment he has and they will buy from me since it won't be useful for me anymore. I rushed to his brother who bluntly told me that he has sold them. I wept bitterly and told him he will reap the fruits of his labor. Shortly, he died and most likely didn't live to spend the money. Karma?
  • I used to be a stubborn child when I was growing up. I stand up and speak to my father's face when he give me orders and when he try to hit me I stop him with my hands. I run away from the house and may not return after some days. Fast forward to the present moment, I am now a father with three kids but I feel I'm being punished for not respecting my father back then. My only boy is exhibiting those traits that I showed when I was a boy. But I begged my father to forgive me when I grew up and knew I wasn't doing the right thing. Karma?

There are different belief about karma - some people believe that karma exist while some believe that karma does not exist. Karma is simply when you are paid back with evil because you did something evil to someone. There is the belief that you will reap whatever you sow. Does this mean that every bad thing we do as humans will be accounted for or it must be a serious issue before we get served in the same way?

Meanwhile, when we look at karma from the religious angle, Christians belief that when you give your life to Christ, all your sins are forgiven and even if you will be punished it won't be as intense as it should be because you have been covered by the virtue of being a born again. But is karma actually real?

There are people who argue that karma isn't real. When someone who is perceived to be good dies the world will say good things about him but when an evil person dies people will begin to say it is his or her evil deeds that caused the death. Won't we all die someday?

What's your take on this issue?

Karma always comes back as they say! What goes around comes around. Thank you for posting in the HiveNaija Community

I believe that this world is give and take. It is like bouncing a ball against the wall. It comes back at you. The energy you give to the universe is what you get back. Karma may not necessarily come in the same fashion or era but it definitely finds its way back to your sphere of life. It exists.

Honestly, I'm not really sure where I stand on this issue, there's always a lot of underlying things we can't know about, what I do know is you reap what you sow, so I guess that's my opinion.
