StartupnREV electric bikes!!

avatar

So two guys John Kuruvilla and Gautam Khot set off on a 14,216km journey across India on these electric bikes.. They are promoting EV Bikes and during this ride visiting colleges and encouraging youth to invest into such sustainability..

Their first stop happened to be Mangalore.. And we rode with them till Moodbidri's ALVA College and back.. It was a fun ride.. Felt like couple of mosquitoes passing by every time the over took me..

From what we managed to speak to the riders, the engines are approximately 200cc.. They run on 2*3 sets of charger batteries.. While traveling from Bangalore to Mangalore they swapped 2 sets of batteries..

Bikes run quite well and were keeping well ahead of the KTMs and Pulsars..

They said that Bangalore to Hassan, the running charge was not so great when they peaked at 80-90km/hr but on the ghat section, because of the deceleration the batteries were in regen mode, full charging..

They are Motorised and not Hybrid.. They are roughly the equivalent of any of the 200cc bikes today.. We took them through all the straights and curves through Adyapadua to Kenjer, and they kept up quite well..

But the final challenge for them is at Kardungla-top.. One of their destinations.. That needs to be seen..
