5 sexy silver coins! Nice!

Wonder what they are? Ok, let's have a quick look!

received_1184830358989327.jpegreceived_4678497862254340.jpegreceived_710202220336181.jpeg

A 30 drachmai from 1963 or 18 g of 0.835 silver! One of my favorite Greek coins, featuring not one, not two, not three, not four but 5 kings. Epic!

received_835317814070199.jpegreceived_397449145152836.jpegreceived_306631941576165.jpeg

Now that's a true beast! A gold plated 5 drachmai from 1833. That's 22.385 g of 0.9 silver.... Amazing how this beast used to be a standard circulation coin once upon a time 🥰

2 reales from 1723. This is now the oldest silver coin in my collection! 6 g of 0.833 silver.

received_513843273511453.jpegreceived_488056953013875.jpegIMG_20220405_210724438.jpg

1 Drachme 1911, 5 g of 0.835 silver.

And finally...

received_458743969329311.jpegreceived_654910452551206.jpegreceived_514564460054889.jpeg

10 Drachmai from 1930, featuring the sexy goddess dimitra. 7g of 0.500 silver!

As you can see they are not in the finest condition but I only paid a 10% premium for the silver they have. Especially the 5 drachmai is super rare and without the hole prices get really crazy for it!

The way I look it is that I get both some silver for a relatively good price and a piece of history.

Stack on!

One of these days I'll be able to afford to get some silver. Until then I can just rule all over all the cool stuff that all you guys share.

At least I do have one silver coin. I'm pretty excited about that. You got to have at least one.

I know I way overpaid for it. However I like it and it's awesome.

Thank you very much for your amazing content and I can't wait to see more of your phenomenal silver collection.

I thought that postcard was a mouse pad at first lol. They're both equally rare but these pieces of silver are a little more so

That's the way to do it, @trumpman.
I know that they say there are many ways to stack, some buy a lot... then stop...
I don't have much, and what works for me is to buy a little every month, like clockwork.
It is true savings. And so far, so good. I've been stacking since 2016.
You will surprised!

Very nice AG, I like the historic coins especially. I don't think I've ever seen a coin with such a detailed map on the reverse. Thanks for sharing these!

You're doing pictures completely wrong. Instead of a 1 euro coin you should be placing banana for scale. :D

An exciting assortment of silver coins, my fav among this group has to be the Spanish 2 Reals.

1718 1717 was about the end of the Golden Age of Pirates, so 1723 is quite close. Pirates went more into rum running and smuggling rather than overt Pirating.

Amazing collection!! I really like how you exposed them, comparing them with 1 euro coin.

You need to buy a metal detector and stop buying coins as I bet in your neck of the woods there must be plenty waiting to be dug up. NB don't buy a Chinese one.

Look forward to that as there must be plenty. Heard about the guys who hit the tourist beaches and find bucket loads of coins and jewelry.

That’s an awesome package of silver. I always wonder who could’ve had the old coins. Was it someone famous, royal. History is so interesting

Nice silver pieces. What is the most amount of kings you have seen on a piece? Is it 5 like the coin you showed in this post?

You have a very patriotic collection, I like it. Although, if I was very patriotic when I started collecting stamps. then in my collection there would be only postage stamps of the USSR, which, today, in connection with the war, I don’t want to talk about at all, lol. It will be necessary to remember numismatics and resume the old hobby. I had many drachmas of different years. but silver was not among them. It was a pity that someone pierced the coin with a nail. its owner could not think that a medallion would cost less than a coin in perfect condition.

I don't mind. They are wayyyy cheaper 😂

Please tell me, when you ordered these coins, did you seek to receive coins, or silver? Maybe I'm way behind the times, but... at the time when I was fond of numismatics, if I wanted to buy silver, then I bought an ingot, and if I wanted to buy coins, I bought coins in perfect condition. In those days, coins with scuffs and any damage were poorly quoted, has something changed since then? I hope you don't get mad at me, I don't want my friend to be scammed in the future, of course, it would be nice if you bought these coins cheaper than dirt, lol. The coin, to which the eye of the medallion was welded, ceased to be a coin, and if, one day, you want to sell these coins, then you will sell them at the price of silver, but not as an exhibit of the numismatist's collection. In this case, the loss of funds is obvious.

As I say in the post I got em for pretty much spot price. In the past I have scored some even at below that :)

Then, great! It’s just that I don’t know what experience you have in numismatics, but I know well the cunning numismatist hucksters who are ready to sell a cart and a steam locomotive to those who are not very well versed in numismatics :) I try to be critical of postage stamps from my collection, I guess you saw that lol.
