"Martisor" is called "Martaki" in Greek! Another common thing we have, amazing!
But here we (well, the kids mostly) wear it, so that we don't get burnt from the sun. We used to make one every 1st of March with my mother :)
Beautiful post @bluemoon! Glad to learn that your love for the sea comes from your youth!

Martaki! Sounds very nice. I like so much that we discover a common word, a common custom, that we find a closeness between the two nations naturally, not necessarily by reading history books. In a post by Stefanos, I saw that you say Platanos to the same tree that we call Platan (one of my favorite trees).

Yes, it is so interesting! Platanos or Platani (even closer to Platan) is one of my favorite trees, too. I dream of being under a huge one and listening to the rustle of the leaves, one of the most beautiful sounds. So glad you mentioned it, it travels me to the most beloved places!

In Bucharest, there are many plane trees. About 15 years ago a mayor decided to plant several thousand plane trees. Unfortunately, pollution and lack of care killed many of them, but fortunately, there are still quite a few!

A nice thought by that mayor. So sad that most of them died.
It will be great when the ones that survived will grow old!

Yes, it will be nice. I hope my granddaughter Ilinca enjoys them.
I hope the madness that's going on with Russia doesn't change our lives, especially those of us who are
so close to the hot zone.
