Road Trip, Kıyıdüzü - Tatvan Road, Türkiye

This will be a continuation of my previous post. We continue our journey after Sarıkım village. The distance to the lake is very short. The villages are almost like private towns. Of course, they aren't very well-maintained or clean.

Houses built with volcanic stone line the side of the road. They look aesthetically pleasing. They have a cooling effect in hot weather and a heat-retaining effect in cold weather. They act as a kind of insulation. The snow is still on the mountains. It's surprising to see snow on the mountains at this time of year; it's been a long time.

Yolun kenarında volkanik kökenli taşlarla yapılmış evler. Estetik olarak çok güzel görünüyor. Sıcak havada serinletici soğuk havada ısıyı koruyucu etkisi var. Bir nevi izolasyon etkisi görevi üstleniyor. Dağlarda karlar halen duruyor. Dağlarda bu mevsimde kar olması sürpriz, uzun zamandır yoktu.

This road was recently constructed. The previous road was winding and narrow, causing accidents. As you can see in the image, the mountain was slightly split open, and the road now passes through the middle. It's great that this road exists; it also shortens the travel time, albeit slightly.

As you approach this village, the number of people swimming along the shore increases. This is because it's close to settlements. People prefer swimming near residential areas. Why would they go further away? In recent years, the number of people swimming in this area has increased considerably. The increase in car ownership, the warmer weather, and the growing population have all significantly increased the density along the coast. The only problem here is the lack of services on the beaches. There are no small shops, kiosks, or even toilets.

Bu köye doğru yaklaştıkça sahil kenarında yüzen kişi sayısı artıyor. Bunun nedeni yerleşim yerlerine yakın olması. Yerleşim yerine yakın yerlerde insanlar yüzmeyi tercih ediyor. Neden daha uzağa gitsinler ki. Son yıllarda bu bölgede yüzen kişi sayısı oldukça artmış durumda. Hem insanların arabalara sahip olması hem sıcak havaların artması hem nüfusun artması sahil kenarında yoğunluğu ciddi oranda arttırmış. Buranın tek sorunu hizmet sektörünün sahillerde olmaması. Bir bakkal, büfe gibi küçük tarz yerler yok. Bir WC bile maalesef yok.

We're very close to Tatvan, about to enter the town center. The villages are over. Mount Kirkor stands there in all its majesty. It's a very aesthetically pleasing mountain. It evokes a different feeling in me every season. Traffic increases considerably upon entering Tatvan. In the summer, there's a huge influx of people from surrounding cities. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said the town's population doubles. Tens of thousands of people come here from hot places to visit this cool place, especially on weekends and holidays.

Tatvan'a çok yaklaştık, Tatvan merkez sınırına giriş yapmak üzereyiz. Köyler bitti. Kirkor dağı tüm haybeti ile orada duruyor. Çok estetik bir dağ. Her mevsim ben de farklı bir his oluşturuyor. Tatvan'a girince trafik oldukça artıyor. Yaz mevsiminde çevre şehirlerden buraya akın oluyor. İlçe nüfusu iki katına çıkıyor desem abartmış olmam. Sıcak yerlerden bu serin yere doğru geziye gelen onbinlerce insan var. Özellikle hafta sonu ve tatillerde.
