The final bus stop

I'm not sure how things work in Euroland, but in North America, our school bus's are this 'school bus yellow' colour so ubiquitous they are in their colour scheming. This convention must have been around for some time, because we had one such school bus at our camp from the fifties or so. Eventually we wanted space and my brother and dad dismantled the thing, piece by piece. And carted it off to the scrapyard. However, the front bit only went so far. We dragged it a ways. It was quite the sight, the front end of a bus being towed by a truck while the bus, having only the two front wheels and being steered by my dad friend got left behind in the bush. It was simply too much to drag to civilization. Eventually some people came and helped themselves to the motor, and the 'GMC' or General Motors Canada insignia on the front. I guess good for them.

At some other point, in more recent times, a few kilometers away, another bus appeared in the bush. This was somebodys RV... there was a stove inside, bed etc. But after a couple years of being left in the bush, it got broken into several times. All the windows smashed, the insides ransacked and eventually somebody also helped themselves to the engine. I guess those old bus engines are in high demand or something? Anyways... I always wanted to lightpaint that particular bus because it was such an eyesore just sitting there dilapidated in the bush. I hummed and hawed and said well... tonights just not the night. Over and over. Even when the bus moved, someone came and towed it out of the nook it was hiding in onto the road. I was like... well if you're gonna do it, better do it soon.

But I never did. I lost my chance. After being moved from it's nook, a scant few days later that bus disappeared forever. You snooze, you lose. The next best thing I could do is lightpaint the one we had left behind. And here are the results of that. Kinda wanted to snowmobile out to the spot as it was already late but I was like... Naw. I'll just walk. It's not that far. But then when you're walking it's like holy crap it's not that close either. Then after I was done, I realized after snowshoeing 3/4 of the way back I had forgotten my tube in the snow 😂 Needless to say it was a late awakening the next day. But it was worth it. I had used two Eagletac D25LC2 clicky flashlights with gels, a speedlight manually triggered and a tube with this cheapo LED strip inside.
