I agree we all have read books. Some have read an ample number of books and some have read less. I however have read less. But even then I would say something about books that many of you’ll agree, more or less.

Hello everyone, I’m @surrealfia aka Kashfia. Yes, I deliberately made the intro later. So, folks today I’ll tell you about My favorite childhood book. When I was a child, I used to read a lot of kids’ storybooks and comics. Yes, comics. What?! Oh, don’t give me that look! If you haven’t hidden Billu or Cha Cha Choudhury (Bengali comics) inside your school books, then what have you done! Not a question, the figure of speech. I have done that plenty of times. Good times, right?

No, it’s still not my favorite book, but I still love ‘em. Okay, I won’t be beating around the bush anymore. My Favorite Childhood Book is “ঠাকুরমার ঝুলি” (Thakurmar Jhuli.) Stop making fun of me, as if you haven’t read fairy tales when you were a kid. Well, I guess some of you are wondering what this book is about while others holding their laughs. ঠাকুরমার ঝুলি is the book that contains almost every fairy tales of this region, especially East and West Bengal. It’s not the same as the Disney version of fairy tales, they are more similar to Grimm’s Fairy Tales where there are some happy endings, monsters and goblins crawls around, they cage the Prince or the Princess, and such.

Oh but the stories, they’ll get you engrossed in them, you’ll keep on rereading it; at least that’s what I did. I think I had read them for years, even bought different copies to see if there’s any difference. So over the years, if the book gets a bit damaged I’ll ask my parents to get me a new one. Yea that’s how it was for me. Even when I was a teenager, I kept a copy of ঠাকুরমার ঝুলি on my shelf, along with other books (yea, sue me).

I’m sure all of you now know the kiddish side of me (I prefer to put words like these at least once). So, almost 2 years ago, I bought the same book for my niece as well. Sigh, she barely read one or two and went back to Cinderella and Rapunzel. I asked her today if she had the book and she said she can’t remember which book. Nowadays she’s a huge fan of Harry Potter, it’s a great book too. I’m just happy she likes reading books.

I can't remember the books I read as a child but recently I read more on financial books and religion books. One of my favourite book is "The richest man in babylon"

I loved fairy tales when I was a kid. The Aesop's Fables were just delightful. I learned a lot from them. Thanks for sharing your favorite childhood book. I'm on my 18th day, so I have already published my favorite book.

Take care and have a good weekend.
