The wonder of RAMLEELA - Suriname
JAI SHRI RAM
RAMLEELA Meaning
RAMLEELA - Litterally this means RAMA's PLAY. Ramleela is a battle between Rama (GOD) and Ravana (DEVIL). This actually happened just to bring the awareness to us as people. This was the battle between good and bad. Actually RAMLEELA teaches us the WAY OF LIVING.
Many things of this battle can still be found. One of them is the bridge to Sri Lanka that was found by scientists. Today i have pictures of this RAMA's play in Suriname.
Here you can see from left to right Lord Rama, Shri Hanuman ji (Lord Rama's biggest devotee in the form of an ape, that learns us that we as human beings with a little bit intelligence need to spread love unconditionially without even thinking twice as Hanuman ji does) and Lakshman ( younger brother of Lord Rama, who didn't leave his brother alone. No matter what situation he was always beside him).
This is Ravana (the devil). As you can see Ravana is expressed as the one with 10 heads. In real it wasn't like that. All the heads symbolizes his bad forms such as arrogance, anger, bad habbits ect...
This is Shri Hanuman ji. He had the play of the strongest being amongst them. In RAMLEELA, he moved a whole mountain. This has a meaning of his strength. We people also have the strength we just have to be the right devotee to activate this.
Another picture of the guys playing Lord Rama and his brother Lakshman.
Here we have another ape and his brother that was also a helper of Lord Rama named Bali and Sughreev. Here there is another lesson about brothers that were very powerfull, but due to misinterpratation there was a fight between them. (There is a whole story behind this from which we can learn much).
Here is a moment of the play where they are fighting.
The beauty of our country is that women are not banned to take part in these plays. So they got some roles also.
In the middle of the two brothers with their arrows you can see MA SITA (wife of Lord Rama).
Some action moments captured

Another devotee of Lord Rama.
Some Devils in action...
A devil being beating by the devotee of Lord Rama.
There was a moment in RAMLEELA where Hanuman ji could fly. To make it entertaining to our public they put him in this.
Devil with his dangerous arrow.
This expresses the castle of Ravana.
I hope to make more pictures in their next festival and i'll try to come back with the full story of the two brothers.
