New month: Readopting good old habits.

Days that mark the beginning of an event or a particular time is something a lot of us look forward to because of how well we've planned what we planned to do; a new season, a new month, or even a new day. The "new" label we attach to it is what makes it special to us, as it marks the beginning of the achievements we plan to make.

A new month is here and while others are excited about Hive Power Up day, here I am trying to then maintain consistency. See, I joined Hive about a year ago but my activities have been on and off due a busy life. Studying Medicine and working a side job in a company hasn't been the most time saving experience. In fact, I have a very important exam coming up in less than a month! I usually don't even have the time to check my social media accounts, it has just been me, my books and my side job.

The reasons to love the Hive community are just so numerous to mention. I love reading about people's lives, their talents, thoughts, ideas and experiences. Part of the thing that makes this community fascinating is that one can literally connect with anyone. I have noticed that people here actually like it when a person shows interest about the things they write about and I think that's a great way to start an online friendship. I also learn things on hive in the DIY section.

As someone who is on a constant journey on the road of self-improvement, I am trying to build new good habits, discard bad ones, and rebuild the good habits that I have lost, like writing. One of the habits I used to have was writing on a daily basis. Although I don't consider myself an expert writer, I used to write better back then.

In this new month of March, I plan to:

WRITE AND ENGAGE EVERYDAY ON HIVE:

Despite having registered this account almost a year ago, I still consider myself a newbie on this block chain. I an still very much ignorant about many of the things going on here. I see some posts and I be like "😕". So guys, expect a lot of questions from me from now on whenever I come across any of your posts I have no idea the hell you're talking about.

I intend to return to my old habit of writing everyday, only this time around instead of doing it in a diary like is used to, I will do it right here on Hive! Even if I don't have any solid idea to write about, I would just rant about my day, just to make sure I write something everyday. Some of the reasons behind this is to build a consistent writing habit, as I think it would trick my brain into thinking that I actually have an audience to write for, and each day, they wait for me to write something. I am also doing this others thoughts on what I write, and of course, I would wander off into other people's posts to read, and engage them by sharing my thoughts, and probably learn from them.

WORKOUT:

Sounds familiar doesn't it?..and at the end, a lot of us stop half way through our work out plan. Truth is it isn't really easy. At the start of this year I bought a skipping rope thinking it would motivate me. Well, it actually did motivate me as I used it everyday for about half of January, then I lost the rope....along with my motivation.

This month, I intend to do push-ups..since push-ups can't be lost lol. Today, I started with just 10 push-ups and intend to add one extra push-up for each day that passes( to the gym bros reading this please be patient with me😭).

MEDITATE:

I used to do this then stopped instantly, without any reason whatsoever. I used to meditate at 5:00am-5:30am and I generally experience a better day. I intend to readopt this old habit of mine.

I posted something yesterday about being in the present moment at all times and the way I felt after conducting my experiment can be likened to how I feel after meditating. As someone who is embarking on a journey of Awareness, I believe meditating would help a lot!

Thanks for reading guys.

Do you have better ways to help me adopt these news habits? What new habits are you trying to adopt? Let's meet in the comment section!

I pray you get that plan which has been writing on a daily basis to this wonderful platform. I wish you well. Actually studying and meeting up here is not easy oo and this platform is highly addictive and we love it. You just have to create time for your self so as not to have problems with school okay.

Great way out dear. For workouts, I have never tried it before. I wish to do my best to see how it actually really feels.

Meditation? I don't understand the ideology. How can I ? I just sit without thinking about anything? Is it possible? If you can do it, then you blessed with a talent.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Well, workouts, like many other productive activities, feels stressful at first. As you remain consistent on the path, it becomes easier.

As for meditation, it's not really what you think. It isn't about remaining thoughtless although that state can be achieved if you are dedicated to the path, you can start by focusing all your attention and energy on one thing, dissolve all other thoughts in that one thing, don't resist them, just dissolve them in that one image, thought, or even mantra you're focusing on.
From your name you seem to be a Muslim, if so, you can focus all your attention on one of the names of Allah or a supplication. It is also a form of meditation. Thoughtlessness is a form of meditation but not the be all and end all.

See? Not that much of a talent now huh?
