Si viste alguna vez Madoka Magica, entonces conocerás el "género" de anime en donde se muestra más que nada, como el mundo de las chicas mágicas que te pintan de perfecto, se va desdibujando a medida que trascurre la trama hasta dejarte tirado en una esquina en posición fetal llorando por lo que acaban de presenciar tus ojos y sufriendo todas las almas caídas... ejem, a lo que me refiero es que, podría decirse que desde cierto punto estos animes de chicas mágicas tratan de mostrar más crudamente o realista, la naturaleza humana (que si le das poderes a alguien, no es seguridad de que los vaya a usar completamente para el bien o al final sean corrompidos por el poder). Y con ésta pequeña introducción, comencemos...

En el lugar en donde se desarrolla la trama, existe un juego de chicas mágicas en el cual, como todo juego, puedes customizar a tu personaje a tu antojo y cumplir con ciertos retos. Resulta que entre miles de jugadores unos pocos seleccionados, se les dota en la vida real de la apariencia que obtuvieron en el juego, aparte de súper fuerza y poderes exclusivos, todo esto para lograr su trabajo como "chicas mágicas", es decir, ayudar a todo el que lo necesite a cambio de simplemente ser una chica mágica protectora del inocente y de la justicia... o al menos, es así al principio. Las dieciséis chicas que componen el grupo de la historia, de pronto reciben la noticia que debido a la escasez de energía mágica, las chicas mágicas van a ser reducidas (es decir, adiós poderes) por lo que deberán reunir más "candies" que las demás, para evitar quedar bajas en el ranking y dejar atrás su vida de super heroínas. Pero como todo no es bonito en la vida, no se trata de una sana competencia, la situación en que van colocando a las chicas se va volviendo tan extrema que empiezan a cometer actos espantosos con tal de mantener su estatus de chicas mágicas. Sobre todo cuando van descubriendo las líneas pequeñas del horrible trato que han hecho al aceptar convertirse en chicas mágicas.

Bien, ya conociendo a los personajes y sus habilidades mágicas, ahora imagínense un escenario en donde se les informa que deben competir contra ellas para poder mantener sus poderes. En un mundo mágico donde todo es felicidad, todo se resolvería pacíficamente, pero se supone que estamos hablando desde una perspectiva más realista, en donde los egos o personalidades de cada una las hará actuar de distintas maneras con tal de mantenerse en pie. Es un anime que destaca por sus lindos diseños de personajes, pero también por sus escenas crudas y bastante turbias. No soy fanática de animes con exceso de violencia, pero admito que éste anime me atrapó tanto que fui capaz de vérmelo entero a pesar de mi constante desagrado.

I'm not a fan of overly violent anime, but I admit that this anime caught me so much that I was able to watch it all despite my constant dislike.
