My Hair Dryer Ate My Hair

Surprise! It's another product review! And a little story about my dumb mistake using it. Lmao!

I take more than an hour to air dry my hair-drying it with a fan also takes a while and strains my neck. Aside from that, my hair looks like I just went out of bed after it dries. I noticed how my hair dries quickly when they blow dry it at the salon and how neat it looks when it was blow dried. This made me decide to get my own.

We used to have one at home but I dropped it and the neck part was damaged. Yikes!

I purchased a Philips hair dryer wherein the unit has three settings-cool, thermoprotect, and hot.

I use the cool setting when I only want to dry my hair. Meanwhile, I use the thermoprotect setting when I go out because aside from it dries my hair faster than the cool setting, it's more effective to tame my frizzy hair. (Though I guess it only lasts for a couple of minutes then goes back to looking frizzy again. Lol.)

It's also small and foldable which makes it easy to bring during travel. However, take note that this hair dryer is 1200 watts so make sure to plug it in an outlet or extension cord which can handle this amount of wattage. Also check for its Ampere capacity. It's important to always check the capacity of your outlet or extension cord when plugging appliances with high wattage.

Well, I think it's not a bad product. I think it's more on my end who needs more practice to know how to properly use it to effectively style my hair.

I can also say that it's a good product, because one time I was on a rush and got so careless that I had the rear end of the hair dryer close to my hair. It caught some of my hair but good thing the fan blades inside automatically paused.

You know, I was so scared that I might have a bald patch because it ate quite a lot of hair. I was stunned and wanted to cry when I checked how much hair was caught. I was rushing to catch an early bus trip to Manila but due to this unforseen incident, I decided to just take the next schedule.

The hair dryer wouldn't function with the hairs inside and I almost thought it was the end. Lol. I don't know how to take the hairs out which jammed the fan blades so I even considered purchasing a screw driver to open it. Few days later, I thought of using a paperclip and after several tries, I was able to successfully take the hairs out of the hair dryer. Whew!

Despite the mishap, which was clearly my fault, I still love this hairdryer. Lol. It's a great help to somehow make my hair tamed and also quickly dries my hair. I've also noticed that my hairfall lessens a bit when I use it to dry my hair. I guess getting one was a right decision. I just pray it won't eat my hair ever again! I have to be more careful and mindful while using it.
