I finally went back to the library after the Christmas break. I can't say I have entirely missed it, as it comes with its fair share of work. With the new year, a new set of acquisitions. Still, the peace and tranquillity is one I can't trade for anything. It is one of the reasons I haven't written a short story review for a while. I look forward to this as much as you guys do.

When I went over the short collections I had, my eyes immediately lit up when I saw Guy De Maupassant among other authors. He is a French writer with over 300 short stories to his name. He is considered the master of short stories. I think I have reviewed one of his short stories, I am particularly unsure. Anyways, the title of this short story gives an idea of what it would be about, so I decided to read this one.

I have heard about Guy De Maupassant and stumble upon his works. Though I believe, it wasn't something that left me a huge impression. I could probably give it a shot once more and see if he's going to change my opinion about him.

I remember this short story written by Guy de Maupassant. I read it many years ago and if I remember correctly Maupassant, as in most of his literary production, criticises the bourgeoisie and its excesses.

Regards @stevenson7.
