Morning Run - Summer's over?

I just finished a 6.973km running that lasted about 0hh:41mm:13ss !

It was distinctly cooler this morning, but dry. I did the lap of Fairfield that I have done plenty of times before. I decided not to go too hard as I have the Standalone 10k this weekend and will just stretch my legs before that. I will probably not do parkrun on Saturday to save myself for the longer race.

I saw a couple of guys out running just after leaving the house. Also saw a guy on a bike with a dog trotting alongside. I have seen him before. It is one way to walk your dog as long as it does not pull you over.

I was not breaking any records today, but I felt quite strong. There is a hill at the far end that I usually struggle a bit on, but I kept the speed up there. By the time I came down West Drive I was tiring a bit and so just took it easy on the way home.

I was listening to a Radiolab episode about an ultra-runner who had to have a brain operation to cure fits. It means she struggles to understand maps or feel the passage of time, but she has done amazing things. As has @rthelly who covered 100km in 24 hours recently.

I am continually inspired by the runners of Hive.

Run free and stay well.

Hey, congrats on the run. Yes, it is notably cooler.

Thanks also for the podcast tip. I'll check it out. Women ultrarunners are amazing. @rthelly included :)

Good luck on Sunday.

Radiolab have some great stories on all sorts of topics. Anyone who can run long distances is impressive to me.

I did a little bit longer workout myself this morning. I had an appointment in the morning that allowed me to sleep in a bit so I took advantage. I have thought about riding the bike with my dog before, but quite honestly, I think I would probably kill myself if I tried it!

Definitely have to trust your dog to walk it from a bike. This one was on the road, but there was not much traffic. I'm sure any police would not approve, but we rarely see them around here. I just volunteered to marshal at parkrun, so I'll at least do some cycling on Saturday.

That is really cool. I did some cycling myself this past weekend. Got some great shots on my ride. I will be sharing them tomorrow I think.

I've listened to Radiolab for years. They tell great stories about all sorts of things.

It wasn't the best summer here, but we've had fun. We don't get much extreme weather generally.

You stay safe too!

Is he preparing for a marathon?

Funny, a friend invited me to an early morning jog tomorrow; I tried to slink away with limited success. Well, let's see how my distance/time will compare to what you've posted.

Enjoy your run. There is not much to be gained by comparing with others. Just try to improve.
