What is more important, the journey or the destination?

One of the most frequently asked philosophical questions that we have heard in our lives is: What is more important, the journey or the destination? Like all philosophical questions, the answer varies depending on the person to whom this question is posed and the stage of life when this question is asked. So, I will try to answer it in a more general way and specifically for me.

Some argue that the journey is more important because during the journey, there are many things that we gain from it, regardless of the final destination. These things include experiences. Think of yourself when you start a journey or an endeavor; initially, we probably know nothing. However, as the journey continues, we start to learn. For instance, when I visit a country or city that I have never visited before, if I want to go to my hotel, I use GPS. But after one day, I start recognizing buildings and landmarks, and if I follow them, I will end up at my hotel. Similarly, when I started trading, I knew nothing, but now, after years of experience, I have learned a lot.

All this learning contributes to personal growth. Even if we are in the middle or at the end of the journey, one sure thing is that we are not the same person that we were at the beginning.

On the other hand, others may emphasize the significance of the destination. Many people don't care how they reach the destination; they only care that they have achieved the goal they set. If your goal is to become a millionaire, how much does the road to that goal matter? Of course, we are not including illegal or unethical ways.

For me, it's something like both. Yes, the journey is important because it shapes the kind of person one will be at the end. However, without the destination and without the desire to reach that destination, one might have to journey throughout his life but never reach that destination.
