CRV Diary 8 and Entry for the Shadow Contest/SMASh.
I kept it as easy as possible again. Most of this aluminum is probably mine. I've been blowing my money on lots and lots of mineral waters and other canned drinks. I purchase the "healthy" drinks. Low sugar and some vitamins qualify for most of my little experiments.
Anyway, today's load was easy to acquire. No hiking, no exercise, and no sore feet.
Speaking of feet, these are my shoes. I own many many pairs of shoes now. Vans, I have experimented and purchased many. If I had completed a long post series, you would know why I'm mentioning my shoes. Some day it will all make sense.

Nice haul! When my kids were younger, my wife used to recycle glass and aluminum with them, and then go out for ice cream with the money.
Thrifty's ice cream?
I would do something similar. I would get money from recycling and then go to Thrifty's to get the cheap cylindrical scoops they once offered. I think one scoop was only 35 cent.
Now I'm craving ice cream.
At the time it likely was Thrifty's. Those cylindrical scoops are still available at Rite Aid. Of course they are much more expensive now.

Yes, I purchased mineral water. An 8-pack of a brand called "Proud Water". It's not a gay pride thing. It's a grey can looking like a beer can thing. Tastes great with a little key lime juice in it.

Yea nah noht really. If I were collecting during work lulls, I would call it tips and "profit." Pillaging the trash bins within walking distance isn't my thing anymore. I conserve my feet for all the extra hours I've picked up. Taking from the work place recycle bin is still easy, but I'll lazier now. I let it build up and coworkers toss it because I'm not around as much.
I'm actually tired of all of it. I'm tired of the space it consumes in my washroom. I don't think the weight it much for the car, but it's annoying having it in the car rattling around.
