Which Story are you Lisitening to On Pocket FM?
Recently, I have become fond of listening to stories on an app which has become something that takes away my time when I get so engrossed in the stories. The app that tells these stories is Pocket FM, and how I got to know about this app was through ads that were shown to me while I was using another app.
I had seen different ad inviting people to download the app so many times but I had ignored it because I was not so interested. But the last ad I saw was more like a drama series of people acting out what the story was about, so instead of clicking skip, I decided to wait a little more to know what the story was about. Apparently, the ad was like 20 minutes, and what I was doing with my phone would take about an hour before I was done, so I really did have the time to wait.
After watching the short movie ad, I was so interested in downloading the Pocket App that I really wanted to understand what later happened in the story. The name of the story was Insta Millionaire, which talked about a poor student who was in a poverty test by his rich family and was recently dumped by his girlfriend to be with their coursemate Billy, who seemed to have more money.
When I downloaded the app to watch the continuation of the movie, I figured it wasn't the same in the app, and it was an anime cartoon I saw this time, but always, I decided to watch the episodes until I noticed that they didn't show the visuals again and it was plainly audio. I didn't like it, but I continued listening.
As I continued listening, my mind began to create the image of the description of what the storyteller was telling, as he usually describes how the surroundings of each story scene were, and it began to be really interesting listening to the plain story, which made me really like it more. I could spend hours listening to the audio story.
Because of how addicting listening to this story was, I made sure I stuck to one story and didn't have multiple stories I was listening to. I also tried to make sure I didn't really have anything left to do before I opened the app to listen to the Insta Millionaire story. This is because the stories always end with so much suspense that you would really want to know what happened next, and you would keep telling yourself just one more story, and before you knew it, you had gone through an additional five stories, which can equate to an hour plus of time spent.
How Pocket FM Breaks Boredom?
I must say that I am never really bored sometimes, but when it gets to long distance travelling, I don't really always like pressing my phone, and sometimes I just get to sleep, but this time, instead of sleeping or pressing my phone, I just plug my ears in and tune to pocket FM.
Yesterday, I travelled home, and I was able to listen to about 25 stories or more, each lasting at least 10 minutes. I was enjoying myself and felt more like I was watching a movie, but this time it was my imagination that was making the movie based on how the storyteller described it.

Do you know that I hardly open all those ads? Hahaha...I will usually skip it and continue with what I am doing but it's nice to see how you stumbled upon this nice stories through ads.
The story looks interesting with your description even though it was not initially what you expected. The author is good indeed, creating a story that makes one to imagine the environment of each scene .

Yeah, I always normally skip these ads. I just happened to be in a good mood and thought to see what that ad was about.

I also came across the ad and watched it. The ad lasted for 10 mins but it was thrilling to watch.

Yes I was
I've tried reading using those kinds of apps, but it gets tiring with all the ads you need to watch, and some require spending money just to continue reading. In the end, I didn't finish what I was reading. But the stories on those apps are really good; it's just that I prefer the free ones for uninterrupted reading.
oh this app is actually a story telling app, you just click on a story and the author would narrate a story. You can't read with the app and yeah sometimes there are ads you make come across on the app but it is not that much as other apps. The app is nice and I think you should check it out.
Let me digress a bit.
Running of ads requires so much knowledge about the people you want to sell to. Imagine they only ran that ads once, you might have never that clicked the ad. Plus, they started with a good story which was what got your attention.
I can tell that you are enjoying that app because I have seen you few times using it; I will have to call your name more than twice for you to answer.
Lol I use the app for relaxation when I want to get lost in my thoughts. Sometimes I listen to it when I am about going to bed and then I sleep off. I think you should try it.
I see the ad a lot but just skip it because I have checked stuff like that and got the complete opposite of what was advertised.
With your recommendation, I think I would love to check this out since I will have lots of free time next week.
Yeah true... Sometimes these guys would advertise a thing, and when you downloaded it, you would see a completely different thing. It can be annoying. Please when you check the ad out, I would love to know your review.

The moment I see ads Im gone most are so intrusive and waste my time, unless I really need the app but I guess in this case it was worth it at the end, 25 min stories thats a tv series episode right there and at the same time it let the imagination spred its legs, helps to excersise your brain, btw the link takes me to 500 error page

The transition from expecting visuals to embracing the descriptive audio format and then letting your imagination paint the scenes speaks volumes about the app's storytelling prowess. I'll definitely look up the app and get it installed, it seems like something I'll find interesting.
