Overcoming Darkness || A Friend's Journey from the Brink of Suicide to Resilience and Hope

Recently, I have been wondering what could be the reason why one would commit suicide. I have never thought much about this until it seriously happened to someone close to me. A few days ago, I wrote about a friend of mine, Mimi, who wanted to commit suicide, and I doubted in a way if it was true or if it was actually my friend on the other side of the chat. I had to make sure by calling him and checking through video calls and truly, it was my friend.

Yeah, his story was a heavy one, but I knew my friend for about 7 years now to be someone strong enough and afraid of death to even think about committing suicide. I am presently in shock that this thing is really a thing in people.

The reason why I felt my friend chose to commit suicide was the rejection he faced by his family; he had no one to turn to. He didn't feel trusted by the people who he loved the most and felt the only way he could solve the problem was to just leave. I am happy that one of our friends was able to reach out to him and make him realise that he is stronger than what he is passing through.

I would be following up on my friend's life and do my best to help him with what I can. He would have to start school again, and this time I would see how he can start an online school and get a certificate that can be used to further his education to study for a masters if he wants to.

At the moment, I told him to try to get a job around where he is, no matter how small, so that he can use it for his upkeep. I would have told him to come to Hive, but I don't think Hive is what he needs at the moment He has a Hive account and could not keep up with consistency. Maybe later, I will guide him to Hive and hope he gets to understand Hive. Hopefully, the newbies initiative will be a way to get him started.

Life is full of challenges, ups and downs, and most of the time, the best way to conquer these challenges is to face them, hope for the best, and look for the lessons life has to teach, learn them, and grow. Suicide is not an option for any situation; we should learn to support those who may tend to that path and show them the light. We don't know what the future holds for them tomorrow, and one thing is sure: nothing remains the same forever, and neither are these challenges.

Iam-Gifted, I remain your brother...

I am happy for your friend and also the role you took in encouraging him not to take that path.
