My Crazy Busy Week: A Day-by-Day Account

(Edited)

This is actually me waking up in the middle of the night to write this post. I have had quite a busy week, starting Thursday night.

My Thumbnails (10).jpg

I happened to be awake all through Thursday night because I had something I wanted to finish covering before the week ended since I had not been able to complete it before the speculated time I had given myself.

This made me stay awake until 5:45 a.m. on Friday morning before I had to go back to bed. Where it became confusing is that on my normal day, I always wake up at 5:00 a.m.; that is how my body is scheduled to function while I do my normal activities of the day after waking up, which are that I pray, arrange my room, workout, brush and bathe, and read at least a chapter of a book before I begin any other activities of the day.

All these mentioned above are my default routine for every day, aside from Sundays, when I just pray and head to church. I complete these routines within the range of 5:00am to 8:00am, but now that I am going to bed by 5:45am, it makes it quite a little difficult.

I went to bed, but because it was already day, my body could not fully sleep, knowing there were activities I could still cover. I woke up past 7:00 am and began my default activities of the day, then moved on to my major activity before moving out in the night for a dinner night that I was invited to.

Now these pictures was taken at the dinner night while the person beside me in the picture is @bobbydones. I had quite a nice time at the dinner-night programme and was awake all through, even though I had barely given myself up to 2 hours of sleep.

For dinner, we were served amala with ewedu and four meats. I can't really say I have a favourite meal, but this is one of the meals I like eating. I was very happy when it was served.

The programme ended by 4:00 a.m., and I had to wait a little until 6:00 a.m. before I could head home. I had the opportunity to take another 2-hour nap. Then, when I got home by past 6:00 am, I had to sleep for another 2 hours because I had another programme to be at.

By this time, I was already feeling chest pain within me, even to the point of writing this post, because I had not given myself enough rest that my body required. So let me continue my story.

I stood up by 8 a.m. again to prepare for the second programme I needed to be at. I had to skip going to my church rehearsal for this programme because I had promised them months ago that I would make myself available for them.

It was a church anniversary, and it was a very long service which ended by 6:00 pm. I was feeling very exhausted and this time, the pain in my chest had increased so much.

I had to rush home to prepare for a presentation with my project supervisor, which is to be held by 9:00 p.m., but I was not feeling well and hadn't slept enough. My brain could not process anything, and my body was tired. I hoped that the presentation would not happen because if it did, I would probably be saying rubbish.

As I got home, a friend @monioluwa visited to stay for the night, and thereafter, I slept off. When I woke up later, I was glad to hear the news that the presentation did not hold. I went back to sleep, and while in my sleep, it occurred to me that I had not been on Hive through the weekend. I had been on one activity to the other.

It also occurred to me that I would be playing guitar in church this morning, and I would need to stay up through this night to score the praise and choir song so that I don't end up messing myself up. I also need to plan the clothes I will be wearing to church before hand.

At the moment, I so much want to sleep, but if I do, I risk not doing some major activities. I just thought that before I go on to do them, let me come to share my thoughts here, as this is the only chance I can get to write.

If you read to this point, thank you very much! I really appreciate it. Happy Sunday!

You need to take good rest Sir. Night long wake up always resulted in pain. I hope you are feeling good now. Two days of work is really exhausting. I don't like to sleep during the day while nights are good for sleeping for me. Meats dish is looking delicious!

Balancing your project workload coupled with your daily routines can be so changing. I've passed through this and i must confess that it wasn't an easy experience. On the other hand, nature can never be cheated as it must fulfil its course. That's the more reasons for the unbalanced feelings and pains. Skipping night rest at when due disrupts the cycle and work of melantonin (the healing hormone that induces sleep) at night.

Pls take a moment to have a nap or deep sleep as it's vital for your heart and brain health. Thank God your project supervisor later extended your presentation. So you need to rest well. I spoke with mum two days ago and it's good to see you're doing great. I guess you must be through with your IT by now if I'm not mistaking. Pls take good care of yourself and stay strong dear @starstrings01.
