I Might Need To See The Doctor

image.png

For about 2 months now, I have been treating an injury that I expect to have healed by now. I have been going to the clinic for a while now, getting my head cleaned and dressed. I have also been given antibiotics and vitamin C to take, but it seems the injury is stubborn.

This is the longest period that I have held a wound since October 25th. I remember writing about it in my post here. Feel free to check out the post if you care to know what happened to me.

I had been visiting a clinic at school for this dressing, and since I was going home for Christmas, I had to look for another hospital close to my place to get the wound dressed. When I got to the new hospital and after they checked the wound, the nurse asked what happened, and I explained the whole situation. The next thing was to ask if I had seen a doctor, and I said no; I have just been dressing it since then.

She said it seems there is something like a growth on my head, like another piece of flesh growing out of the wound on the surface of my head, which is why I may need to see the doctor. So after she cleaned and dressed the wound, she asked me to keep taking my vitamin C and come back on Monday, which is Christmas day, so that they could check the wound and see if there would be any improvement on it.

Presently, I am tired of carrying bandages on my head and people asking what happened to me and narrating the story of what happened. It gets really annoying, and at the same time, having to see me look at me with pity.

Talking about the pity looks, when I got home, my 5-year-old niece came to me, saying, Uncle, what happened to your head? Why is your head like this? The eye she was using to look at me showed that she was so worried, and she kept asking me the question through the night and also trying to touch my head.

I had to tell her what happened because she would not let me rest until I told her, and even after I told her, she did not stop disturbing me with "let me see your head." I had to tell her a lie: if she touched my head, the injury would transfer to her head, and they would have to bandage her own head too.

As she heard this, she left me immediately, and I started begging her to touch my head, but she was running away with fear that her head would be like mine.

Previous and present bandages

I would have uploaded the pictures of my head without the bandages, but they are kind of disturbing. Hopefully, I get better before entering the new year.

Ah man, that small injury turned this big? I have looked at the previous post where that chemical caused it but it seemed like a small area but now it is this much big.

May God help you with this.

A 2 month old injury is never a good sign of it isn't showing signs of healing...

You should see a doctor quick.

Get well soon...

I 'm sorry to hear about your head injury. You need a proper check and nursery by a good doctor near you. To explain every time the same injury story to everyone is panicked. Your niece loved you more hence she is asking about your head. Children love and care about us in the same way, we did for them. I pray your wound will heal soon but don't forget to check by a good Surgeon there.

Dealing with the injury for such a long period of time, you are strong person. Sometimes is frustrating and tiring, but at least you're showing great determination in seeking treatment and taking the necessary steps to heal. Not everyone does that. I hope you get better soon. ❤️❤️

Bro, I was shocked when I saw the wound again last week. Thank God we went to the clinic again else you might never know that it hasn't healed.

Don't worry too much, get the right medical treatment for it and watch it get healed.

The price of the chemical that the technician charged was too high, and I felt he did so so that he could earn some money from it - Artisans especially in naija do this always , its more or less an unspoken tactic in their line of business , wait until you meet mechanics..

Your patience and efforts in handling this situation are commendable. Wishing you a swift recovery and hoping that the upcoming check-up on Christmas brings positive progress towards healing
