HIVE POWER UP DAY || $400 GOAL THIS MONTH
Happy New Year, Happy New Month, and a wonderful New Week πππ.
It is the first day of the year and month, and obviously, we know what it means: Happy Power Up Day, hurray!!! πππ. If you are just coming across this initiative for the very first time, you should know that this initiative is a monthly tradition celebrated on Hive where we all have to power up some amounts of Hive. This contributes to the hive ecosystem and also to your personal growth on hive.
Yesterday I published a post about my Growth Report announcing that I broke my goal for last year, surpassing it by 400 Hive, and now I have a total Hive Power of 21,400 HP.
Today, I will be powering up a total of 90 Hive. This would take me up to 21,500 HP and just 500 Hive away from 22,000 Hive Power. I am so glad about this.
MY $400 GOAL FOR THIS MONTH
This year alone is full of expenses, and in order for me to be in a safe spot for them, I need to have some money prepared ahead, which is why I have made a goal to save up to $400 from Hive this month. I don't know how possible this goal is, but I am willing to try.
I know I am an advocate of setting realistic goals, but yeah, I think this is realistic enough to achieve, as I was surprised that I was able to raise 700 Hive last month, or should I say 800 Hive since I am powering up 90 Hive today. In dollars, 800 Hive would amount to $288, which is $112, far from $400. I believe if I take Hive seriously this month, this goal would be possible.
You must be wondering, Why am I pursuing this goal?
The relevance of this goal is the major expenditure that awaits me. First, my final year project, which requires me to build a drone-based maize disease detection and identification system, would require $503 to cover the cost of materials. Luckily, I have two project partners, which would require us to pay $168 per person.
I want to start working on the project as soon as possible, starting with the software phase of the project. My supervisor had instructed us to use a Jetson Nano as the edge computing device, which costs around $200, and I know if I am to wait for my coursemates to start contributing to get this device, it would take a while (definitely more than two months). If I can get this device by month-end or the latest February, this would help in finishing up this project in time. This is where the $400 savings would help so much.
The second reason is that I am going back to school, and with school come unplanned expenses on so many things. I literally spend about $120 a month on living expenses, which cover my feeding, data, and transportation. This month would likely be way higher because it is my birthday month but because of my need of money, I would try my best to spend a lot less this month
Another reason is that going back to school means paying school fees and my rent for my apartment. All these, put together, would amount to $170. But luckily for me, I would leave these for my parents to solve, but I am setting up a plan for this in case I donβt get myself disappointed.
And lastly, the need for savings. I donβt have any savings aside from my Hive Power. At the moment, I donβt even have emergency funds; I am just there. Due to the fact that I donβt like powering down and I donβt want to power down in the future, I need to make plans now on how to distribute these funds and make earning them a possibility.
In the end, it turns out I need more than $400 to cover the total expenditure listed. I know that I have not earned up to $400 in a month on Hive for a long timeβactually, more than a year. If it was the last two years or during the bull run, when I probably earned more rewards than now, raising $400 may have been very possible in two weeks, but let us see how this goes this month.
How do I plan to achieve this goal?
I believe that to achieve a goal, one needs to be intentional about it, waking up every morning with thoughts of how the day would contribute to making that goal possible. So I have thought of mental and physical actions to take towards attaining this goal.
My first plan is to: "Write More Often Than Always."
I am the kind of person who writes three times a week, as I get very busy in the offline world, and I know this is due to poor time management and improper planning. I hope to work on this and make sure I publish at least once a day. It would not be nice to write every time without engaging with others. I would make sure to keep this in mind as well.
Second Plan: Set 70% rewards to @reward.app on all post
I really need as much money as I can get, so the reward app would be helpful here in getting some of those rewards that go to HP. This way, I keep building my Hive Power as I post often and, at the same time, save money. The rewards I get back in Hive would stay at Hive and be kept in Hive Savings. This would be done so as to take advantage of an increase in the price of Hive, and if it happens the other way around, I would bear my losses.
Third Plan: Sell second Layer Tokens
At this point, I am considering selling my Holozing tokensβnot allβbut using the opportunity to buy Hive back since I am delegating 10k HP to Zing, and at the same time, I would increase my delegations to Posh tokens and probably Zing too, so that I can get back those tokens I end up selling.
I believe that with these plans, I hope to achieve my goal of $400 at the end of January.
My Hive Power Goal
I want to make sure I keep growing my HP, no matter how small, as my growth is important. So therefore, my goal is to increase my HP with the addition of 100 Hive. I hope to attain a total of 21,800 hive power by the end of the month.
All these may not be easy, but I will do my best. God help me!

Congratulations to you on the number of Hive power you have
I hope you acquire more of it this year
Happy new year!
Amen! I hope I do too... Happy New Year rafzat.
Its great that Hive have become a source of income for you, I have think this many times too but for now Im just accumulating as much as I can for the next five years before I take anything out, Im looking forward 2024 with the 20K HP goal in mind or higher if possible, it is so early at this stage that we can grap all this Hive although in the next 5 years wont be so easy once prices start to go up, keep accumulating βοΈπͺ
It is great to be just accumulating. This is really all I want to do but yeah it is what I survive on. 20K HP Nice!
I don't know where Hive would be in the next 5 years. So yes, it would be wise to accumulate as much as possible as we can.
You have a very solid plan. Iβd say itβs totally feasible. Good luck with raising the money and with your project as well, boss:)
I hope the plan works out brother. It is really nice to see you around.
You are really doing a great job staying consistent to this
Smiles... Just trying the best I can.
If you are consistent you can achieve it. Happy new year.
Yes I would.. the lord is my strength.
This is Definitely not going to be easy but I believe if you can make at least a post daily it would be possible to a great length.
Life and it's troubles are too much and preparing ahead is just the best. I wish you all the best as you strive to achieve your goal for this month.
By the way, how many HP do you plan to achieve by the end of the month? I think I saw 21700 but on your chart it is 21600 π.
The issue is even having the time to make posts at great length. The best I can do is try to be make a post at least once a day.
Thanks for bringing it to my notice. The plan is 21,600. I didn't realise that my hand clicked on 7 instead of 6.
I can totally understand how hard it can be especially on some days, to even wrote a post will be a struggle. Well, just keep pushing π₯°.
Okay, I was actually thinking the one of 21700 was the correct one, thank God I asked π
I am close to 21,600 already.. Maybe 21,700 would be possible.. That's what I would do.
Okaye, let's do that π₯°

Thank you very much for your nice words. I try my best to fulfil my goals, but the truth is, there are so many goals out there that I have also made but have not been able to fulfil.
You're welcome.
It's okay, you will tick them off gradually.
