The weight of being a monitoring ant
Welcoming in my blog...
When we talk about ants, of course, people will understand it very well, because it is a type of insect that has the smallest size compared to the others, although there are also other insects that have a smaller body than it, however, people still compare small things to ants

There are so many people who use the term ant character with human life, one of the most famous things is, Where there is sugar there must be ants This term has been passed down from generation to generation in the lives of human children. And indeed that is the character of ants, the ants will continue to be where there is sugar, and not only where there is a sweet object, but where there is suitable food for it, that is where they exist as a colony and they will continue to walk according to the destiny of this nature.

When someone talks about ants, they will imagine a very large colony, of course they are seen walking or swarming around the object of feed, whether the object is other insects or human food debris that falls by itself. Of course, many facts have been discussed in the life of ants, both their personal character and the colony.
However, in this post, or on this occasion, you see an ant seen alone, no other colonies together, maybe you will ask what happened to this ant?

Well, this is what I will tell you, it turns out that ants, especially this one, have some rules (human terms), so that they look alone in this world, there are no more colonies and people they obey in their lives. Yet they were always alive and strong, and respected, when they were in a colony.
However, they will look weak when separated from their colony, or the authority as a group that is feared no longer exists in their personality, even if they fight with all their might when attacked they will also accept defeat even with a small ant.

I have noticed this one ant, separated from the herd on a mission, the observations I made, not only of this poor black ant, but long ago an observation of the same thing was made on individual ants if anything had happened.
This means that the treatment carried out by the ant colony towards individual ants has also been felt by other ants, such as the ants seen in this post. Thus the information, when you see an ant separated from its colony on a mission, then know that the ant has accepted some realities that must be lived alone. The reason ants are ostracized by their colony or neglected in their solitude, among others, for several reasons.
1. Receiving obstacles from a predetermined travel path
As stated above, with a question, why does the ant live alone in another location without a colony with him?
It turned out that one of the causes was, having obstacles when outside the path set by the observer, so that he became isolated on every way home. Or the original path or path marked as the way back and forth has been erased or is no longer visible.

In general, for a colony when you want to carry out daily missions, such as looking for locations that have a lot of available feed capacity. Previously, the leadership would send officers to detect the location and its path as a path that must be passed when bringing it back to the nest location, the route is said to be the homecoming location. Then when the monitor finds the location of the feed, of course the monitor (assigned) will give instructions by adding a special smell or substance found in the monitoring ants and the smell of the food found. Then each colony monitor will notify the colony in its own way.
This means that the monitoring ants that have found the location of their feed must return to their nest, to instruct the colony that a large field of food has been found in a location, complete with a path or direction that has been marked by placing a clue, or in the form of special signs such as scent and some other clues. But unfortunately sometimes the monitor encounters obstacles on the way either while leaving or when it manages to find a feed point while walking back to its colony to say something.

This inhibition generally occurs based on the removal of traces or scent trails that have been marked, these traces are usually erased by water, or the clatter of large objects such as stamps of human footprints walking, or sometimes buried (covered) by other annoying odors, can remove the scent of the trail, and special paths. Sometimes the monitors themselves get lost on the base path, though later they will also find it again with a second team of monitors on a mission. But in general the monitors often have bad luck while carrying out the mandatory missions that come from their leaders, meaning they will be lost forever separated from their colonies.

So it's no wonder why monitors often mark the same path on every trip in every quiet room, or choose a difficult path (rarely traveled by humans), sometimes the colony is seen walking in irregular circles. Even though the location of the nest and the location of the feed does not look far, if you walk straight. This is to anticipate the path is cut off when turning or walking. So this function is carried out by monitors who become messengers who always manage to return to the nest and manage to notify each colony to immediately head to the destination location.
When there are no obstacles on the straight path, every ant that meets is seen shaking hands with each other, both ants that leave and ants that return, are detected with the same odor and are declared still in one colony. Then the monitoring ants have successfully completed the mission. However, if there are obstacles in the initial mission, the monitoring ant will accept the consequences of losing the colony and willing to live alone away from the colony, then when he himself will generally have bad luck or he will become food for other insects.
Note: This information, which is obtained from the observations of the research team in a study, if there are similarities either chronologically or otherwise, is purely coincidental
Hopefully the results of this scientific study observation, can add to your scientific insight, and also become a reference for new students in writing an article. Thank You...
