Urban Meadow in MyCalifornia

It's Saturday morning. A weekend to myself and my Yorkie, StarDust!

We went for a short walk in the meadows where there are flowers of all sorts.


This is what I would refer to as an "urban meadow". People would stick or plant in the ground whatever they have left over of flowering plants. And they would thrive.


I don't know the names of these flowers. I just enjoy them, so does StarDust. They are lovely in the mornings (and the afternoons, and evenings).


Flowers are restful to look at. They have neither emotions nor conflict.1 They just grow to give happiness and joy.


These appear to be carnations. Pink carnations!


I know that Pink Carnations are the color of a mother's love which makes them perfect for Mother's Day, which is coming up soon.


There is a bunch of carnations growing here. Oh, wow!

These are deep red carnations.



According to a Christian legend, Carnations first appeared on earth as Jesus carried the Cross. Carnations sprang up from where the Virgin Mary's tears fell as she cried over her son's plight. Miss. Anna Jarvis (The Founder of Mother's Day) used Carnations at the first Mother's Day celebration because Carnations were her mother's favorite flower.

I'll be back more times to this place. What more can you ask for when you are surrounded these. No need to go the nursery for now! It is lovely here.

I was just taking photos and watching StarDust smell the flowers.

An urban meadow? I love that idea! Planting things that are leftover from your potted plants. It looks like a beautiful place. I would love to go there!

A man in a grocery store tries to buy half a head of lettuce. The very young produce assistant tells him that they sell only whole heads of lettuce, but the man persists so the boy says he'll ask his manager.

California is blooming right now.
Very common are the California Golden Poppy... they grow wild!
The town where I live has flowers all over! It's really nice here.
But is just like any other town/city.
I'm glad you like it!

I can only imagine it's cheerful everywhere you look especially with the poppies blooming. I wouldn't miss such a sight if I were there too hehe.

That's beautiful @silversaver888 , so this land is open for people to plant whatever they want? I have seen community vegetable gardens, but this is the first community flower garden I have heard of very nice! 🤗

This is not an organized garden.
But, it turned out to be very nice!
Lots of flowers.
At the same time, there are patches with no flowers at all!
I have no time to search right now, but I showed it before on a different season

OMG these are gorgeous!😍😍💞 And while purple is my favorite colour I can't discriminate against these beautiful red and pink carnations🌹🏵🤩 When I finally get a decent phone I'll take and post pics of the breathtaking buganvillas here in Mexico that vary from fuscia purple to peach, to pink, to red to white and light pink💜🧡❤💗 Oh mi corazón está enamorado de ellos 😍🙏

StarDust is a very tiny dog. She weights 2 1/2 lbs only, hehehe! I posted a photo somewhere in the comments here.
