Sublime and Beautiful Sunday: A gift

Hello Hivers! It is Sunday again, the first day of the week in the new month of October.

These are some photos of flower I took recently while shopping at favorite hardware store. They have these flowers in their little nursery.

A new month has begun, a new month has passed. Every month, I wish for you to reach all the goals you set for yourself.

I received a gift in the mail from a friend from the #silvergoldstacker community. He is around commenting but no longer post actively in Hive. I guess he is on sabbatical like many members of that community.


@stokjockey sent me this San Francisco bottle opener/magnet.

Why San Francisco? Well, I lived in the Sunset District is San Francisco and worked in San Francisco for many, many years.

The magnet has the famous scenery of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge, the Painted Ladies of San Francisco, and a Cable Car.


In San Francisco, about 48,000 houses were built between 1849 and 1915 in Victorian and Edwardian styles, many of which were painted bright colors to emphasize their architectural details. Colors such as red, yellow, chocolate, orange, and others were in style.

In their 1978 book Painted Ladies - San Francisco's Resplendent Victorians, Elizabeth Pomada and Michael Larsen coined the term "painted ladies" for San Francisco Victorians. This term has since been used to describe colorful Victorian houses in other American cities as well.



The magnet is meant for the refrigerator. So here is it, among the ever-growing collection of refrigerator magnets!

such beautiful flowers, just in our country flowers are not much really appreciated except for decorations of event and the likes.
I also wish I had an iPhone to take beautiful pictures like yours.

Hi @treasuree ! Happy Sunday!
Last week, I mindlessly and accidentally threw my iPhone into the clothes washer. It was as iPhone 6. For many, many, many years, I kept the phone because I saved up for it. It can no longer be use. So now, I have a used and refurbished iPhone 8. iPhones are so expensive, but may be worth the purchase. Someday, you will have yours too!
I love flowers, and wish I could post daily about flowers!!!

I love my rudbeckia! They bloom until the cows come home! I put in one every year and now my garden is filled with them so I split them and gave some to the neighbors.

You couldn't have worked for years and years! You aren't that old!

I love that opener! It is truly original. :)

Hehehe... for me it was many, many, many years years of work... never-ending work!!!
Oh but I am so grateful!!! Never a day from college without work.
I'm thinking... will I be doing the same thing in 20 more years? Perhaps I wouldn't be working that long. It sounds too old for me. But everyone I know worked that long. I might die before then, hahaha!

Happy Sunday !

Love the flowers and gifts from friends are always special. I love the places where the houses are colorful, well, the photos I see of them. It seems too many places most of the houses are built looking blah and boring... no fine character at all.

In a neighborhood in the next city, someone in a neighborhood with older small houses painted or sided theirs a happy, medium vivid blue like they were at a Florida beach or something and the response from so many was so negative. Of course it was in a sea of white or nearly white houses so it blazed like the sun! I personally liked it. Too many people are so stuffy !

San Francisco is so colorful, not only the houses. Every mook and cranny is interesting. The city is always bustling. Maybe I should do a post on it.
It's unfortunate there are many people like that... stuffy! Hahaha!

what beautiful flowers, beautiful house of san francisco. I used to use many magnets on my fridge, although there are not many anymore, these were damaged because the children who wanted to play with them, your images are very beautiful

"I spy" one of my favorite flowers in bouquets: colorful gerbera daisies! Mine always tend to droop prematurely so I prop them with a makeshift straw cast.🌻🌼🌺🌼🌻

Your refrigerator reminds me of how the one in my home used to look with souvenir magnet decorations from cities vistied. For Mother's Day this year, my daughter gifted me with customized photo magnet cubes she had made on Etsy. They inspired me to remove everything that was there previously and start fresh with a new theme! 🖼

San Francisco is a wonderful city! I bet you have some interesting stories from the years you lived and worked there. Curious. Have you resided anywhere besides Hawaii and California? @silversaver

Maybe you can convert some of the magnets tucked away in storage boxes into Christmas tree ornaments to display during the holidays. I remember how you enjoy decorating several trees with different themes for Christmas! Only 82 days...🗓🎄🎅
