A weekend Exercise at Mine Maize and Cassava Garden

avatar

Hello hive, how's been your day, happy new week. Last weekend I went into the little garden farmland I make at mine backyard to do some little wedding, watch the state and growth of mine maize and cassava, because of how small the land is, I had to practice mixed-cropping, two different plant on the same piece of land.

The wedding didn't take me much longer because I had spray it with herbicides about three weeks ago, so it was quite easy to handpick the weeds, while the stubborn weeds I had to make use of hoe and cutlass, it was quite hard and stressful for beacuse I have to bend down to do the weeding, but it was the right exercise I need to burn some fats.

The maize were growing straight up fine, I had make use of Chicken droppings/manure as fertilizer to the farmland this is in order to improves the soil nutrient that it's is deficient of, there by providing nutrients needed by the maize and cassava to grow well and brings outs more fruit.

Mine cassava were not doing much good thou, I guess it was affected by the chemicals I sprayed the land with, so it has stunted its growth, but mind is well at rest because I can see it has sprouted back up.

I couldn't bring back anything from mine time-out at the garden, because the maize still remain about two weeks before it can be ready for harvesting while the cassava still has a couple of months to go.

I hope by next time I will be coming here as touching garden work, I will have been able to do a maize hang out, where you join me to chill and gist while we eat some maize...

You have done a great job for that combination; planting two plants on the same piece of land cassava and maize is a two ways purpose of planting. Kudos!

Thanks bro, I had to do that beacuse the land is small and within three months, maize will be ready for harvesting while the cassava will have enough space to grow there after
