Hail to the Hive!

Another day and another exploration of the Cornish coast and all its rugged beauty. On this day though I found myself a little captivated by the steep stone step entrance to the rocky beach. I just loved how it looked, a narrow gap with a thin view of the ocean beyond.

By now my travel companions were getting used to me wandering off, aimlessly photographing random stone walls or some such thing, and left me to it.

With the sound of the ocean waves crashing just out of reach and with the stone walls rising vertically either side of me I was in my own little bubble of sea, stone, wind, noise and the smell of sea air. I felt almost childlike as I took my shots and altered angles. I also noticed Imwas smiling, which may have intrigued any random onlooker watching me from above.

I find these activities really pleasing and immersive. Taking in the texture of the stone, the noise around me and deeply brewthing in the fresh sea air. Feeling the spray from the ocean waves crashing forcefully on the rocks and the spray, carried by the wind, somehow finding its way to touch my face.

These sensations trigger memories of different times and different oceans in or larts of the world. I feel happy. Happy and pleased with myself for being here.

I love how the photography draws me in, aking in my surroundings, looking for angles, examining the details aoumd me like a detective at a crime scene. I am in he moment… and smiling 🙂
