Let's Make It Sticky, Sweet, and Milky: From Ordinary Sticky Rice to Extraordinary Afternoon Snacks

So yesterday, Mommy D cooked a glutinous (sticky) rice that we cab eat as a snacks. Its simply just steaming process just with a salt in it. We usually eat this with sugar like how we eat suman. The difference of this to suman is, we didn't use coconut milk. It'll be more awesome if it has it. But the oldies really just want this simple so she made this just like this. Seriously, it is already good even without anything. I love to eat it with sugar of course

The way Mommy D cooked the sticky rice is just perfect, its fluffy, soft and I love I can easily chew it. My favorite part was the crispy rice crust.

Now, we only eat this yesterday with sugar and enjoy it even with how simple it is. But, deep in my head, I am also thinking of a possible recipe that I could make with this. Like, I thought of cooking this rice in melted sugar. And coz we don't have coconut milk, I planned to use powdered milk instead. I actually check on YT if there's a recipe with melted sugar and milk power together but I couldn't find anything. I only found out of how to make "Pastillas" its quite easy and now I also want to try that, lolol

In the end I just settled with just melted sugar. Something could go wrong if I tried mixing milk powder in it. Lol. And sadly, we don't have butter or even a margarine so we just tried using vegetable oil. It is to avoid the sticky rice to stick into the pan ¯\(ツ)/¯. I used 2 tablespoon for ir

Once the sugar is melted, I put the sticky rice in it and continuously mix it until the sticky rice all ben separated. This part is kinda hard coz I had to constantly mix it. But then again, this much is worth it if we could enjoy a nice snacks later.

And after 8 minutes of toss and turning it, its finally done. I added a lil more salt in it to balance its taste. Looks good now yeah? Ehe. Its really simple but I tell you, it taste really good!

I put mine in a flat plate coz i'm seriously itching to do something on it. Like, I couldn't put milk powder in it a while ago no? Why not make it as a toppings then? Lol

And so... ¯\(ツ)/¯

There it is, I really feel like it would taste even better with milk powder on top. And I didn't stop there coz I also bought one pack of roasted peanut and crush it to put on top of it. Now, isn't look more awesome? The taste? It's 11/10. I asked Mama if she like the taste and she said it taste even better with the toppings. Heh, see, see ¯\(ツ)/¯. Its already the best without this but if we can improve it more to make it taste even better, why not do it right? Like...Just do whatever you wanna do, I guarantee that it's the best for you, just do it, do it, do it, do it. ♪┌|∵|┘♪
