Homegrown Greens and Leftovers Goodness -Soupy Dish I Made for the Whole Fam ft. Malunggay Pods

Whenever we have leftover fried fish, the first dish I often think of to mix with it is a vegetable to make a soup. It is always the best as a healthy dish for a meal. Also, we can use a variety of vegetables, depends on what we crave for the day. In our case today, I am not craving for any particular veggies to put in a vegetable soup, but I kinda want it sour. And we just happen to have a string beans from Auntie V.
I just thought of putting Malunggay leaves to make it healthier. And, I also want to use tomatoes in it to make it a lil sour...but man, tomatoes are expensive here right now so nevermind. Onion, ginger, and garlic are already enough. Then Mommy D asked me to buy 10 pesos worth of Calamansi so that'll do for my cravings for a sour soup today. I can just squeeze it in my soup.

Also, we still have one bell pepper, also from Auntie V's garden so its one of the ingredients. I just cut the string beans and even removed its seeds before soaking them in a water with salt. I leave it there while picking up some Malunggay leaves in our garden. Man, our garden is really awesome. So many awesome veggies that we could use, ehe. Ah, I also cut some onions, then crushed one garlic, and more ginger. Ehe

Now, while picking up Malunggay leaves, Mama told me to just cut one branch of the Malunggay tree to get its "bunga" or Malunggay Pods. But I could't reach it so I asked Mama for help as she is taller than me...man, why I didn't get Mama's height, huhu. Anyways, nthat's her doing her stuff, Mama is just good with everything! I rely more to her than her to me, huhu. Awesome Mamabelsss! ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

So here's the "bunga" ng Malunggay (malunggay pods). I harvested a few, I mean, this is actually already plenty. Just that, peeling this kinda take time. But thats just a small price to pay for this awesome vegetable. After peeling them I just cut them into small sizes, same size as the String Beans. By the way, this dish is for the whole family and I am tasked to cook it. Not like it is a complicated recipe though. Haha

So all we have to do was throw everything in the pan or whatever cooking ware u want, I used rice water here instead of just water. Then lets put the bell pepper, ginger, onion, garlic, salt, msg, rice water, and the fried fish. I just let it boil first before dropping the the string beans and malunggay pods. This is also where I adjusted the taste, added more salt when I thought it needed more

Then minutes later, I also added the Malunggay Leaves -mannn, this dish is really baaaaamm!! Haha. Pasabog yarn haha -sa health benefits ganern, lol. I cooked it until the string beans are ready, when it soften, I turn off the gas then served it while it is still hot. And happy me, because everyone loves it! I actually love the lil sweetness I could taste on it -that I think is thanks to the fresh Malunggay Pods. Nyommmmm!

Lovely \(๑╹◡╹๑)ノ♬
And with that, our lunch is an amazing one. The simple leftover fried fish become like a new different dish thanks to these vegetables. And they are all homegrown so this made it extra special ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
