Delicious Martabak, Saturday Night's Traditional Food.

Have you heard of a dish known as Martabak?

Martabak is one of Indonesia's most popular dishes. It's even better if it's a Saturday night.

What is the reason behind this? Because the tradition of young people visiting their partners to spend the weekend with them was historically associated with this martabak. When they go to their girlfriend's house, they usually make sure to purchase martabak for her parents. As a result, this martabak is popular as a weekend present and has become a tradition.


Tonight, I'd like to experience the delights of Egg martabak. After completing the #splinterlands daily mission, I decided to go on a journey on my motorcycle in search of martabak snacks. Martabak is frequently available at Indonesian streetfood booths. They're mainly served from a cart that operates at night. I came upon a martabak seller not far from my home.

Sweet and egg martabak are the two varieties of martabak. Duck eggs, veggies, and meat are combined in Egg martabak. Where the mixed veggies are encased in a paper-thin skin and folded so that they may be fried in vegetable oil in a frying pan.

While the Sweet martabak starts with a bread dough base, it is then topped with chocolate, cheese, almonds, milk, and other mixed flavors.

I'd want to try the egg martabak tonight. As a result, I ordered an egg martabak piece. 😚

The pricing of several egg martabak varieties in this shop varies as well. For two dollars, some people use a vegetable filling with two eggs. Some have mushrooms added, some have an extra three eggs, while others are made according to the buyer's preferences.

The components for the egg martabak that I purchased were expertly handled by the martabak seller. The veggies are sliced into little pieces and combined with duck eggs, along with a pinch of salt, beef, and pepper. The wheat flour skin dough is then thinned and placed on a frying pan. Flattening mixed veggies and eggs on top of the skin, then folding and frying until done.

Because the procedure of folding and frying the martabak skin takes unique abilities to avoid it burning, the seller must move fast.

It's time to savor the freshly prepared egg martabak. Yes, egg martabak is frequently served with side dishes such as chili and pickled cucumber. There are also individuals that serve it with vinegar and chili sauce.
