THE GEM OF THE VILLAGE // A Peaceful Sunset Over the Flowing Waters of the Countryside

At exactly four in the afternoon, I continued my journey to Buket Panjang II Village to visit an irrigation channel located beside a peaceful rice field area. The journey took about 45 minutes, It was not too far, but it was still quite tiring under the sun. However, before visiting the irrigation channel, I first stopped by the SMA Negeri 2 Patra Nusa school area to pick up my friend. Since he was playing football, I had to wait for him first.

At exactly 5:00 in the afternoon, my friend and I immediately continued our journey toward the irrigation channel. It was not too far from the main road, but the road leading to the irrigation channel was still in very poor condition,the road was still covered with small rocks and a very thick layer of dust.

When I arrived at this place, the orange glow of the sun had already begun to appear, creating such a magical and peaceful atmosphere. This is not a tourist attraction, and I would not recommend people to visit it, but anyone can come here. There is also nothing particularly interesting about the scenery. All you can see is a water dam illuminated by the orange glow of the sunlight behind it. However, if we are talking about peace and tranquility, perhaps this is a place that I would highly recommend visiting.

This is my second visit to this place. In terms of its appearance, this place has not changed at all. However, the difference I noticed this time was that the river water was very muddy, while the natural surroundings were still so lush and beautiful, creating such a peaceful atmosphere.

Someone once said to me, “If we want to see and feel the peace of nature, then visit a flowing river. Listen carefully to the sound of the flowing water and take in the scenery around you.” At first, I did not really believe in that opinion, but after I tried it myself, I realized that it was actually true.

At that time, my friend and I sat right by the riverside while enjoying a cup of coffee and some dry bread. There was not even the slightest sound of noise here. All we could hear was the sound of the flowing river, along with the sound of birds chirping and flying among the trees. However, not long after that, several young children came to the river, and it turned out that they wanted to swim there.

With the presence of the children, the atmosphere, which had initially been very quiet, suddenly became so lively. The beauty of the sunset was reaching its peak, but unfortunately, I could not fully enjoy it because it was hidden behind the trees. As it started to get dark, we immediately decided to make our way home. Sometimes, something amazing is hidden all around us, or perhaps we are the ones who fail to notice it. This short journey had a very positive impact on me, and I can say that this was a journey of healing for myself.
