Circumstances and Expectations

Right now I don't want to write anything very long, don't write articles that are useful for me and my friends. But right now I just want to write a little about my anxiety, circumstances, and desires.

With this article, I really want to read comments from all of my friends. I'm sure my friends want the best for me in the future.

In the writings that I have posted in the music community, I often discuss production music. Explaining how to do a good mix, explaining the settings for plugin effects, even in the first post I also wrote what was needed to produce music. This is the post

Here I want to explain that what I wrote is a theory that I got from my friend or teacher. even though I've been practicing it for real, I haven't been able to produce a piece of standard music to enjoy. All the problem is that the equipment I have is not as expected.

In this post, I will show you what a music producer really should have and I will compare it with what I have.

1. Computer

In making music, of course, you need a DAW, and the DAW application must be installed on a computer device that has high specifications. Such as a good quality processor, great value RAM, and large hard drive/storage.

Meanwhile, I only have a simple laptop/notebook. Actually, this is not a personal notebook but I have permission to use it indefinitely.

2. Studio Room

The standard room for a music production house is a comfortable, soundproof room. Because the sound produced in the studio room will disturb the environment. Moreover, a special room for vocal recordings, there must be completely soundproof so that sounds from outside do not enter the room, and the room must also not produce echoes.

I currently don't have that. I just built a small room but it's not finished yet, and it can't be used yet, the reason is, of course, a matter of cost. In the future, I just want to build this room to completion and for the soundproofing, I will use a chicken egg rack.

3. Audio Interface

Audio interface (Soundcard) is a must-have tool for music producers. Soundcard serves to convert analog sound into digital. The vocalist's voice is entered into the DAW via the Soundcard, as well as other musical instruments must be entered via the audio interface.

My situation until this moment does not have an audio interface. If I want to include vocals, then I directly connect the microphone to the laptop.

4. Microphone

In music production, a microphone is a device for including vocals in a DAW. Although all microphones are capable of inputting sound into the DAW, not all microphones are capable of producing standard and good sound. A bad microphone will produce a sound frequency signal that is not as expected.

Right now I only have a small microphone that I ever bought for about 10 dollars. And now when I want to try recording, I will borrow my friend's but I use this microphone more often.

5. Speaker

The standard speakers in music production are Flat speakers (monitor speakers). Flat speakers produce original sound without over or under a frequency. By hearing sound from flat speakers, a music producer knows what frequencies are more or less on an instrument.

All this time I listened to music I made with headphones for $1. And very often one of the two becomes broken or damaged

6. Musical Instruments

In producing music, a DAW will create instruments in the midi format. But there are some instruments that are really bad when using DAW plugins that produce midi formats, especially guitars. The guitar needed in making music is an original guitar and produces an original sound.

But since I don't have a real guitar, I was forced to make a guitar instrument using the plugins available in the DAW, of course, the sound is very different from the original guitar sound.
