Snack out at a village restaurant!

Who said, the village market doesn't have much to offer? Maybe they don't have popular fast food options but local snacks! No one can beat them on this!

I recently visited two of my aunt's houses. It was a fantastic tour with my mom and my son. We enjoyed the excellent environment there as well as their fresh food. I can say it safely that I have enjoyed the best kind of 'Jelapi/Jalebi' there.

Let me share some photos of my experience with you.

Not to mention, they are nothing fancy. The Bazar/market only had three to four restaurants. They offer local snacks, tea, and some sweets. The best thing is all the foods are freshly made and they were super tasty.

Just look at the Jelapi/Jalebi; aren't they look delicious?

We bought a good amount of jelapi and brought some home too to share with other family members as well.

We had some samucha/singara, some lentil snacks/piyaju, and soft drinks.

The snacks only cost like $.30 (without the soft drinks).

The best thing is their homemade yogurt. They serve it in a mini glass, I find it really cute. On top of that, the yogurt was so good, I couldn't believe I'm tasting something from a very rural area.

They also offer a few types of sweets (local desserts). We didn't have the chance to taste them but I heard they are also quite good.

This is what the place looks like. We paid around $2 for everything. I was so happy with the food and the experience that I bought back some food for my aunt and my mom as well.

This experience will be cherished for a long time by us for sure.

Have a good day, everyone.

Simple, super delicious foods, always buy a little to take home when visiting our local lady who makes cooks onsite in a store over here in Durban.

Cuisine of India or similar regions each family has a secret recipe, no two ever taste the same.

Local food is how you get to learn more about the people. This is something unique which make it more special. I would rather spend my money on local food as well. This not only helps businesses but also keeps the tradition and culture intact.

Happy #MarketFriday!

What a special treat! The food was delicious looking and I will support my local shops like that forever. Sometimes the places are off the beaten path and are always found, sometimes they are little holes in the wall. I love them. the delicate pastries, just waiting for me to take some extra home.

Who could resist?

As a local treat, I hope they keep these foods up and running! The food served now was probably served generations ago! Keep it m9bring.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive or cheap? Did it go up or down? Please do not post 30 pictures with no words about them.Do not use pictures more than once in a post!
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess on some
    4. #MarketFriday must be your first tag.
Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
    5. PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  4. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
