Autumn Equinox

Welcome to the Autumn Equinox in the Northern Hemishere.

I couldn’t let it pass without a mention.

Fall is settling in with the cooler, longer nights and shorter days. It’s taking longer for the sun to warm up the earth each morning but the days are lovely.

Here comes the sun early this morning making finger shadows through the trees.

With the onset of Autumn, Covid-19 still casts a dark shadow over the planet and the pandemic doesn’t seem to be going away. It’s another season with wearing masks and social distancing restrictions.

85% of the population on the Island have been vaccinated against Covid-19 but when the children started back to school, many younger ones (12 years and under) had tested positive for the virus and lockdowns were reinstated. There has been news of Pfizer being used in less dosage as a vaccine for children.

Anti-vaccinators’s protests are still going on but it’s come to the point that without proof of vaccination one cannot travel outside their province and go into a lot of establishments, shops and bars.

Enough about the pandemic..let’s keep our face towards the sun.

As the morning progresses the sun became stronger and longer shadows were cast.

The rays from the sun soak up the heavy morning dew.

The red, orange and rust of the leaves on the deciduous trees reflect in the pond at the bird sanctuary.

Canadian geese hanging around at the nearby bird sanctuary. Many may soon be seen in the sky forming a V-shape heading south but some may stay all winter if there is a food supply.

The many blueberry fields seen throughout the countryside add wonderful crimson colors to the landscape.

The berries left on the mountain ash tree are food for the birds during the winter.

This has been a great Fall for apple growers. Apples are plentiful and the orchards are pretty to see with the red and green apples.

Hi Jo,

I love the Autumn and hope to find more time to get out than in the past weeks. I am longing to see the colors.

I didn't post this week and thought boosting your nice post would be a good use for the points :)

Our weather is very nice but quite cold at night and in the mornings. I wish you also a nice Frigg's day, dear Jo, and a wonderful weekend 🤗🌞

I wouldn't know what to do with the Ecency points anyway and boosting is a good use I believe :)

This morning I have been on a short walk and made a few photos. Maybe I'll make a post tonight or tomorrow. When I have time I am editing photos and try to sell them as NFT's on several marketplaces. Therefore I am more on Twitter than on the Hive at the moment, but Hive is still my number one 😃

Hopefully your Sunday is as nice as ours here, dear Jo, beautiful autumnal foggy in the morning and now it has up to 26C 🌞

Rays of light through the trees a beautiful capture, berry fields another showing a little different to the spectacular Autumn feel you experience annually.

A wonderful time to enjoy outdoors Jo, wish I could experience the intense joy this season brings before the snows arrive.

It is a beautiful season before the snow flies, Joan. It’s a good time to get any outdoor tasks done as the humidity and flies are gone.🌸

Thanks for engage points.

Our humidity is starting to creep in, so I look forward to seeing all the cool pictures I know will arrive in the coming months.

Hope you get everything racked, stacked and packed in time to enjoy the beauty around you now.

those colors look so beautiful through the photos. In my country there is never autumn, but when the trees have new leaves the dry ones come to look something similar. I love these photos.

The photos are all so soothing and refreshing. Having lived all my life in a tropical country I can't help but feel so comfortably cool viewing these. My very first trip to America was in autumn and your pictures just brought back the wonderful memories I had experiencing this season for the first, and only, time in my life. Thanks for sharing 🥰

Most welcome @gems.and.cookies. I would like to spend our winter season n a tropical country.

I’m glad you got to experience Autumn in America and found these photos refreshing. Actually the air is much fresher in this season with no humidity. Nice the flies are gone also. :)🪰

Have a wonderful Sunday, my friend.🤗☀️

So very pretty in your neck of the woods in autumn Jo. I was wondering if you have an Autumn Equinox do we have a spring equinox in the Southern Hemisphere?

We have anti-vaccinaters protesting here as well Jo, they want a choice which they can have but they too won't be allowed to travel or get around unless they show proof of their vaccinations. Ben and I get our second Astra Zeneca shot this Wednesday. At this present stage there is an increasing percentage of people getting their jabs. We have been lax here until recently when the Delta Strain took hold in the southern States. So far there are a few states that keeping the Delta out but it will probably will only be a matter of time.
I just wish covid would disappear in a puff of smoke!
Sending happiness 💛

Yes you had your Spring Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere about the same time as our Autumn Equinox (Sept 23). Our seasons are opposite.

Covid has made a resurgence and hospitals are full across the country. I too wish this pandemic would fly off this planet. Wayne and I have both shots of the Pfizer vaccine.

Keep safe and happy Angie. 💕

Beautiful photos Jo!! Those blueberry fields sure are pretty! I love the Autumn colors and there is a bit of a chill in the air here. It feels like the seasons come and go so quickly sometimes. Hope you have an awesome rest of the weekend! 💞

Thanks Dee. Yes a bit of chill in the air. Time does fly by too quickly it seems. Time passes faster as we get older I’ve heard and now can believe it. :))

Have a great Sunday.💖
