An Embarrassing Moment

Earlier today, something I've always dreaded unfortunately happened to me today. I've mentioned in the past that I'm the kind of guy who will always prefer to go out with extra cash just to avoid any form of embarrassment on the way.

Well, earlier this morning, I had gotten up, had my bath and then went to this restaurant to get breakfast. The plan had been to get a simple plate of rice, but I got there and decided to add a couple of things because on my way to the restaurant, I had checked my bank account and realized I had some amount of cash in it that could accommodate such expenses.

But unbeknownst to me, the bank account I had seen was that of last night, and for some reason the app didn't refresh when I opened it this morning, maybe because I never really closed the app but only minimized it.

Well, I got to the restaurant, placed my order, and when it arrived, I dove at it. By the time I got to the part where I had to make my payment, I was surprised when, after inputting the amount, I was told on my phone that I had an insufficient account balance.

I quickly refreshed my bank app, and to my dismay, the money wasn't as much as I thought it was. That was when I remembered that I had made some purchases the previous night and had forgotten to take record of it.

Luckily for me, the people in the restaurant hadn't noticed yet that anything was wrong. So I had called a friend of mine, asked him to send me some money, and thankfully he did that immediately.

That was how I was able to avoid a truckload of embarrassment, because I couldn't even ask them sell on credit, seeing how it was very early in the morning and a lot of people don't like to do things like that in the morning; they believe it brings bad omens to their business for the whole of that day.

Well, my lesson has been learned, and it will never happen again. I will make sure to always refresh the app next time before placing any order.
