A Stressful Fun Filled Day
The past three weeks have probably been the busiest that I've been for the past three years, and yesterday was definitely in the top five.
I had woken up around 3am to have my bath and then proceeded to go outside to go help some of my colleagues because we had a carnival to prepare for, and apparently, we had to do everything ourselves. From setting up the canopy to decorating it and doing all sorts of labor.
I could tell that it was going to be busy, so I had taken a ten-minute break by sneaking away just to make a blog, and I was glad I did because the moment I clicked on publish, I was caught by my platoon officer, and he had immediately called me back, threatening to seize my phone if I didn't put it back into my pocket to work with the rest of the guys.
We did all of that, and thankfully, the event was a success. Unfortunately, we ended up not winning anything because our decoration wasn't exactly the best. Everyone who decorated was literally doing it for the first time, while members of the other platoons had solicited help from other professionals that were arranged by their platoon officer (ours does nothing for us).
By the time we were done with the event, every bone and muscle in my body was screaming and begging me to go rest up, and that was exactly what I did. The plan had been to lie down for about an hour and then go get something to eat. But the moment I closed my eyes, the next time I opened them was this morning.
It looks like my body has finally had enough and has forced me to have that well-deserved rest that I've always deprived it of ever since I got here. Luckily for me, I only have a few days to be here, and then I'm out of here, and hopefully things go back to normal.
