Protecting Yourself Against Cyber Criminals- Cyber Security Awareness
It’s been months of being on break in the hive community. A lot has been going on in my life. I’m really glad to be finally back in this wonderful and beautiful community where different cultures, experts, and wonderful people thrive.
While I was away, I did lots of relearning, unlearning, and learning. Part of which I will now be sharing with the community what I’ve learned and what I’m still learning in order to continue to grow with beautiful minds in the community.

My path majorly on this platform will now be shifted to issues in cyber security, how to remain safe from cyber attackers and as well creating awareness on things our daily practice will overlook that are most time security loopholes and at the same time serves as a channel for cyber criminals to take control or bridge into our precious data and privacy for their own gain.
It is of great importance that we secure our sensitive data against all forms of cyber theft and loss to the dark world of cyber criminals.

Since 92.1% of internet users, access the internet using a mobile phone, which is approximately 4.32 billion active mobile internet users worldwide. According to a private firm Zimperium global report that over one-fifth of internet mobile enabled phones have encountered malware, and also four in ten mobiles globally are vulnerable to cyber-attacks.
Mobile devices also account for over 60% of internet fraud.
According to Karpersky.com threats reports. The following are the top 7 security threats to mobile phones:
- Spyware
- Broken Cryptography
- Phishing Attacks
- Network Spoofing
- Unsecured Wi-Fi
- Improper Session Handling
- Data leakage which happens regularly through mobile apps.
Due to covid-19 pandemic cybercrime has been on the increase by up to 600%, this is one of the reasons we as a community also need to know how to protect our data devices against any form of cyber-attacks.
It is estimated that cybercrime 2025 globally will cost $10.5 trillion, as of now it cost $6 trillion in damage or loss per year.
I will be sharing more information on my blog regularly on cybersecurity. Cybercrime and how we can stay safe from cyberattacks.
