MY INTRODUCTORY POST: FIRST POST ON HIVE

It may seem counter-intuitive to call myself a writer that is terrified of writing but the truth is somehow subconsciously, I have inadvertently worked out a system which prevents me from writing to the best of my ability. One of which is my boss’s judgemental voice constantly telling me “you know how to write, but it's like a child...without rigor”. What does rigor even mean? Hopefully, this introduction being a maiden post will, with the wonderful help of stalwarts and inspiring minds on this platform, launch a pastime that helps build my capacity and, dare I say, tolerance for writing.

Introducing myself has never been easy but I can try. I guess Pirate Thanos is as good a pseudonym as any and revealing my location might compromise the concept of anonymity. Why pirate? I guess because I feel like I am living a life intended for someone else; there are over 7 billion people with over 7 billion lives and mine is so out of place. It's obviously not mine, it was stolen and I figure I stole something far from what resembles something I would want. My destiny is supposed to be somewhere afar off. And Thanos? Lol...Who wouldn’t want a gauntlet that’ll bend everything to his/her will?

Reading the introductory posts of others made me feel like I should tell you about hobbies, things I like, my aspirations, profession, and whatnot, but somehow I want you to follow me on a journey where I gradually introduce myself in a number of scripts I write, therefore I'll skip the conventional introductory post.

I can however profess my love for acquiring knowledge simply out of a need to dish out knowledge. I've also got a lot of real life experiences that would be suitable as cautionary tales to some and humor to others but what I can say is I've never taken the popular route in anything...almost anything. From the screenplay that I only write in my head, to my travails as an aspiring business person, to being almost killed by a horse I thought was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.

My persona is that of an observer of trends, as long as it's from afar. The thought of following bandwagons is slightly unnerving as it makes me feel the little identity which I am fortunate to possess (even though stolen) will be further diluted in a myriad of normalcy.

Back to the introduction, which I am beginning to think I'm poorly doing. I want to teach and I'm much willing to learn anything and everything. I want you to see me and I want to assimilate enough from this platform that’ll make my soul yearn to meet you all individually. Hope you can indulge me. Thanks and Argh matey!
