It is our duty as long time Hivers to check and upvote posts of newbies
Retention of users
The Hive and also Leo blockchain already has a big community. But we want new users to come by and join the blockchain. But one part is sometimes forgotten. The retention of those newbies. We want them to onboard, but what do we do to keep them here? Do wo let them swim and hope they stay? Or do we connect to them pro-actively by checking out their posts and upvote them? Most of us don't, most just react when a newbie asks them a question. But I think that is not enough. It is our duty, in my opinion, to make them feel at home, by checking out the newest posts in the new section, especially from users with a very low reputation. I know, it doesn't sound sexy. Because, you probably won't get big upvotes back from them. But in the long run, it is so important for the Hive blockchain.
Every newbie is a potential dolphin or orca of the future, and should therefor be encouraged to stay on the Hive blockchain. We can only do that by making them feel at home.
Set your filter to #all and check out posts by users with a lower reputation
So, every few days, I stroll down the #all section, and check out posts by people that are probably very new to this place. I do not always comment, but I do upvote a lot of them. And I see that that is appreciated very much. It gives these people courage to endure the hard first months on this blockchain in which the learning curve is high and there are more questions than answers. They see a nice pay out on their posts, especially if they are still plankton. And they see that it is possible to grow organically. I consider this my duty as a triple dolphin and 4 and a half year old veteran on this chain.
Maybe you should too, if you aren't doing this already. It will only benefit all of us in the long run!

The people doing V2K want me to believe it is this lady @battleaxe Investigate what she has been up to for 5 years. Its the next step to stopping this. Make her prove where she has been for 5 years or where she is now. She is involved deeply with @fyrstikken and his group. Her discord is Battleaxe#1003. I agree with you and we should support newbies. I know many newbies leave HIVE early because they don't get enough in return. Preparing a standart post takes almost one hour. Thus, why to stay for them with zero upvote.
Lol. In my case, 1 hour is quite small time. At times, it takes me more than 3 hours to prepare a standard post.
I have write couple of post about supporting the newbies not only in the terms of upvoting alone but also engagement on their post ,the journey here on hive for newbies always hard especially in terms of good post, that why most of newbies prefer play to earn game ,not supporting the low account kill vibes and most of them end up backing off
yea man, that's a good practice and I also try and help the new hivers. I also delegate to several new hiver type curation services as well as personally upvote and comment/welcome new hivers often.
Being a newbie is certainly a hard time. Without the support of some healthy upvotes it becomes quite difficult to sustain.
As you have said, it is the responsibility of the heavy wallet people to drop some support to them. It is important for the groeth of the platform

True, every newbie is a potential orca or dolphin. I see myself as an example, because if I was to be asked two years ago, I would not believe I could have made it to dolphin status in any way without the support from the community. That's why I do my own best to pay it forward.

Wow! This caught my attention. It only leave me an impression that if majority of the leaders on the chain have similar mindset as this then it will almost be impossible for any newbie to struggle as a beginner here.
You are blessed with a good heart. I completely agree that particularly those who already financially established themselves on Hive should look into new comers, which I think is really good for the long-term prospect of Hive. I also think that it's natural human tendency to ignore small voters and to surround yourself only with fat voters. Again, if old timers are thinking of user retention, just spending few minutes visiting some posts will do a lot of good. Thanks!
